Product Description
BotaniGard 22WP Mycoinsecticide is an effective biological insecticide that is used to control whitefly, thrips, aphids, and many other insects. It is based on the highly successful fungus, Beauveria bassiana strain GHA, and controls the most troublesome crop pests – even resistant strains such as Q-biotype whitefly. BotaniGard is versatile enough to use as a stand alone, as a tank mix partner, or in rotation with other insecticides. BotaniGard 22WP Mycoinsecticide is a unique Mode of Action: BotaniGard’s mode of action is unlike any conventional insecticide. The applied spores infect directly through the outside of the insect’s cuticle (the skin). Spores adhering to the host will germinate and produce enzymes that attack and dissolve the cuticle, allowing it to penetrate the skin and grow into the insect’s body. As the insect dies, it will change color to pink or brown, and eventually the entire body cavity is filled with fungal mass. The most common visible indication of insect death is a discoloration of the larvae or pupae. It is not necessary for a white fungal growth to occur to know the product is working; the insect is killed before this happens.

Now that that's out of the way...it killed three of them (one of the common household pests, the less common one, and the seasonal one).
The things to remember are:
1. if you're using it by itself, in a water base (which by no means do you have to), it will not stop your misery instantaneously - you'll continue to see them for about a week, but they'll stop feeding before then.
2. Only mix up as much as you plan on using: mixtures more than a day old will putrefy and there's no way to prevent this without killing your spores or adding something else.
Another thing is that if you're like me, you'll probably have an allergic reaction to it if you're using it in and around places you sleep - not anything life-threatening, but very much like a cold.
I was a fan. Pricy, but its cheaper than an extermination and unlike chemical insecticides, pests don't know better than to run away from mold spores.
I have given in and purchased the oil suspension Aprehend from a reputable DIY website. It's supposed to be able to work in less than 20% humidity.
Keeping fingers crossed!
Phil
