We meet Ellie Reed, a sweet girl from the east coast of the US that has been living in London to escape a saddened past back home. Although living in London was part of her plan she learned early on that life doesn't always go the way you planned it to. Because of her past she is determined to live her life in London and fills her time with work, work and more work. She doesn't need any friends, connections or attachments. Until she's assigned to work with the Rhys Edwards, the country's hunk, on an upcoming production of Hamlet.
Although Rhys Edwards is a famous actor, known throughout England and the globe, he isn't one to boast about his career path or level of fame. He's level headed, down to earth, admits his insecurities and feels emotions like everyone else.
What I enjoyed most about this book was the thoughtful, cutesy flirting that occurred throughout the entire story. Rhys wanted to know Ellie on a deeper level since they are assigned to work together for an extended period of time. He openly admits to flirting with her, but he's flirting to get to know her versus to get in her pants. You find out early on how caring and considering Rhys is, even before Ellie admits her past to him. Rhys pays close attention to every word that escapes Ellie's mouth, taking into consideration her personal interests, future travel destinations, music choices, and more.
I kept falling more and more in love with Rhys as I progressed through the story. I could not get over his character and how flawless he seemed. I still can't. I've claimed Rhys as MINE.
As a debut author, Stephanie did an impeccable job creating a fun story line and making sure the scenes flowed from one to another. I could tell instantly that her style of writing is strong, mature and straightforward. I was getting frustrated at myself for life's distractions and not being able to devour this book in a single sitting.
I HIGHLY recommend this debut novel to all romance readers. I loved this story, the characters, the plot, the struggles and look forward to what the future holds for Ellie and Rhys.
Bravo, Stephanie. You did an AMAZING job!
