The book provides a clear path for business owners who are either plateauing and/or are getting burned out from simply trying to do so much in their business. To be honest, there's no big reveal or shocker here. As someone who has been in business for over 25 years and who reads 200+ books a year, there was nothing new as far as content goes.
So why am I so excited about this?
There are 4 reasons...
The first is that Josh has done a tremendous job of simplifying a process many high level consultants work through with their clients that produces maximum results in a minimal amount of time. I offer 1 VIP day a month. I charge a ridiculous amount of money for it but I guarantee clients will make double the investment in 90 days in pure profit. I can do this because I'm able to apply the same methodology Josh uses in his book.
The second is that the people who need what Josh shares in this book the most often simply don't have the time to go through dozens of books and figure out how to reinvent their businesses. I can't see how anyone reading this book and making SOME effort to apply what they learn won't see tremendous results. I suspect for many readers who need it most, it will be like loosening a valve on an overfilled tire to release some of the pressure. The best part? Many of the concepts take hours to implement yet results can be dramatic.
The third is that, in spite of the topic being a heavy one, Josh has introduced the material in a way that it is entertaining. For those of you who don't like reading or prefer fiction books, you won't find it a challenge to read this book.
Finally, I get a lot of advance/early release copies of books. I also buy a fair amount. In a time where 'everyone' is writing a book, 99% of what I read is a waste of time for someone with more experience in business. This was not. Josh delivers a clear framework that any business owner can implement or any business consultant can use with their own clients.
Kudos Josh! I know the care and love that went into writing this. It's a fantastic piece of business art.
Joshua gets the different stages that a business goes through and the common challenges they have. You'll see that chart in the book when you read it. It's an immediate ah-ha moment where you see that that it all makes sense. The other thing about Josh and about this book is that he is not only an expert in sales, but marketing, and operations, and scale. Very few experts have that breadth of knowledge and ability to see the big picture then narrow in on the exact problem, rather than only seeing a nail because they are holding a hammer.
Josh helped me at a time when my confidence was shaking a bit and being able to really understand that bit is of paramount importance. If you can't impact change with the CEO, how can you get the CEO to impact change in the company? Highly recommend this book. It is *excellent*!
With today's marketing technology, that shouldn't happen anymore.
The modern-day rephrasing might be, "Half of my effort in this business is wasted; the trouble is I don't know which half."
The world's awash in tips, tricks, hacks, and "advice." There's no lack of information.
There IS a lack of discernment, though.
It's so easy to get overwhelmed with all the things you could do to grow, fix, or improve your business. It's also easy to get buried in projects, ideas, plans, and putting out fires.
Throughout the book, the author gives a great set of frameworks to show you what you should do for YOUR business...
not somebody else's.
If you're swimming in options and can't decide which one to choose, if you're out of options, or if you're pretty sure that half your efforts are being wasted, pick this up so you can cut straight to the chase.
You don't need tips, tricks, hacks, or advice that "fits like your father's suit"- you need a proper diagnosis.
So that you can identify the difference that will make a difference in YOUR business, not someone else's.
With this book, you will isolate that difference, you can do it yourself, and you can do it pretty quickly.
You'll marvel at how much time, money, and energy was wasted on indecision, overwhelm, and majoring in minors.
The good news is, you'll have turned a corner.
