Betony Vernon is a sex educator based in Paris and Milan. Her role as advisor for fashion editors and magazines makes her a go-to sex expert, from the boardroom and television studio to the bedroom. With this statement, the author of “The Boudoir Bible” lays down the stakes. Then she goes on to share her philosophy of sex:

Most people engage in “PGO,” Predominantly Genitally Oriented sex. These are typically fleeting encounters that last from 3 to 15 minutes. Fast sex may provide for the superficial release of sexual tension, but more often this sex reduces the sacred union to a mechanical act that leaves one or both partners in an emotional void.

The writer espouses a different philosophy on sex: “Paradise Found,” in which any form or degree of erotic stimulation (genital or extra-genital) that is performed between consenting adults (whatever their gender or sexual orientation) and that does not infringe up anyone else’s rights is considered acceptable sexual behavior. This is sacred sex, a ritual. Like the Taoists and Tantrists, the goal of the sexual union was to achieve oneness- with one’s partner, one’s self, and with the entire universe.

By removing the sole focus from the genitals, and alternating with full-body stimulation, you can radically extend the duration of the sexual ceremony and provide a wider range of ecstatic sensations. The ability of men to delay the ejaculation reflex during orgasm is crucial.

Then, she tells us how to perform our own sacred sexual rituals, step-by-step, covering everything from delayed ejaculation, masturbation, anal sex, and a solid primer on BDSM.

This is the best single book for couples to read, enjoy and apply in their sexual lives together. This is a treasure tome, and if you are open-minded, will change your life.
