This book is a cliffhanger which I don't like. That is why I gave it 3 stars. Trigger Points: physical abuse racial slurs
We have in this story the giant disconnect between a woman who has signed up for willing sexual interaction and exhibits none of the indicators of being sexy, alluring, responsive, and attractive to men who want nothing more than to have a woman as a sex toy. In men’s eyes, women that practice this behavior serve the pure purpose of providing satisfaction and showcasing their sexual being. Once auctioned, Kimani is separated from her mobile phone, driven hundreds of miles from her familiar turf and completely isolated. Ben is a true alpha and thwarts Jake’s crude, crass, and blunts some of his abusive behavior at every step. We really see vast cultural differences between the principal men assembled ostensibly for business. Kimani asks Ben to use his mobile phone and she sends a text message to her editor. With Ben’s resources and potential business and political risks, he questions who was this woman, who did she call, and WHY? The second half of this book should be most interesting.

Bought (A New Adult Billionaire Romance) (His For A Week Book 1)
Kimani Taylor had finally made it though all the preliminaries, almost having backed out several times. Signing all the legal documents in front of four different attorneys, being asked when she lost her virginity, how many sexual partners she's had, the physical exam and then the interview with the woman asking about her sexual preferences. When she agreed to be engaged in hardcore BDSM she wasn't worried. Her plan was to get bid on, get to know the "buyer" and the other participants of the Scarlet Auction, pull out before any sex actually happened, then write the scoop that would land her a job with the San Francisco Tribune. Given she was only a year out of journalism school, she needed an edge worthy of being noticed.
What a bizarre set of circumstances. Is your interest piqued about the auction, the week at the cabin, even the research for the story. The buildup in this book will keep your interest piqued. Go in knowing there is a cliff hanger.
