I have flown to many of the airstrips that remain open today and have hiked to many others which are closed. There are many great photographs and stories included. The stories of WWII aircraft lost in central Idaho make for great reading and are a bonus included in this interesting book. I would highly recommend this to any one flying or recreating in central Idaho.
My brother is mentioned in one of these chapters. The book is well written and is accurate in the chapters that I know
about from living there. I look forward to reading every chapter. I feel Richard Holm did a lot of research for this book.
The photos are also wonderful!
I ordered the book a week ago. I'm not a pilot but am interested in the Idaho backcountry. I found the history, pictures, and stories really incredible. If you like wilderness, hiking, rafting, fishing, hunting, the history of the various ranches and homesteads...you'll love this book. Holm did an amazing amount of research. I'm getting this book for my dad and father-in-law for Christmas. Great gift idea." Why are you reviewing a book you haven't read?
