Your characters are lifelike and I love it when I leave a story feeling like I know them. You have a realistic plot and to me that makes for an enjoyable story. You have crafted a quality piece of writing. Bravo!- Lisa Conner OSP
From the Author
My passion for writing started my freshman year in high school, and took a backseat, my second year in college. Somewhere along the way, I allowed my passion to get lost between my career, and being a wife and mother. After my son was born, my life began changing course. I returned to the writing, which had been such an essential part of my identity, years prior.Fours years ago, I pulled out my red felt journal and begin to write. As each journal entry was made, the love that I once shared for writing reclaimed its space in my life. As I wrote, I begin to read it out loud and rediscovered my passion, which prompted the premise for my book, Bound by Memphis.Bound by Memphis began from an actual journal entry, and turned into a fictional novel, that was inspired by true events that happened in my life. While the characters of the book are loosely based on those I know, when Jasmine Henderson, the main character, reminisces about her past, those are actual accounts of my own life and a particular lost love. This book was an emotional roller coaster for me, awakening a memory I buried long ago.
My pilgrimage, through the book, brought on a renewed sense of understanding of what already was, before, and a heightened gratitude of the love I share with my husband, today. I hope that everyone who reads this enjoys the journey.

Bound by Memphis is a nicely written romance story that provides a quick escape from reality into the mysterious and chaotic lives of three characters who you'll either love or hate. My favorite character is Jasmine, a beautiful, successful, and well-educated woman who is torn between her love for two men - an unusual circumstance for a woman since you normally find that it's the men who can't make up their minds and commit to one woman. I liked Jasmine's honesty, courage and confidence in herself. She is every woman and there's a heartfelt message in this book that every woman must see for herself.
While there were times that seemed the author dragged the story on a bit, she still does an excellent job at bringing her readers back into the story, keeping us anticipating what will happen next.
One thing I would suggest to any author who writes fiction is to stick to 3-4 main characters and build your story from there. Throwing too many names in a story could distract the reader from the main plot, thus making it difficult to keep up or even reach the end.
Other than that, I think Jennifer does an outstanding job in telling Jasmine's story. So, I'm patiently waiting because I know there's more to come. 4 stars
Only one issue- I could NOT put it down! Especially the second half. As a result I am pretty certain that was the night that my husband and kids ate cereal for dinner.
Very very good read.
Looking forward to more books from Jennifer Hayes:)
