The author's strengths (to me) are her ability to write beautiful descriptions, the way she fleshes out her characters (and makes one care for them), her pacing, and the feeling that much more could have gone wrong but didn't. I love the cover!
Overall, I enjoyed the idea of the story, but was turned off by the rushed pace of the writing. A few more scenes fleshing out why a character developed certain feelings or decided certain actions would have gone a long way.
Aveline has it pretty rough with her abusive dad. Aveline thinks she has an imaginary dragon friend named Aeolius. Is Aeolius real or just the product of her fathers abuse?
This book will capture you by the heart, tug, and squeeze you in this breathtaking novella
There might be the kernel of a decent story here, but it was so disjointed neither my wife or I could finish it.
First, it needs a proofreader. I can forgive occasional typos and mistakes, but there were so many of them it became distracting.
Second it needs a story editor. There was not one character I sympathized with. The main protagonist is abused in a cartoon-like fashion, and characters change without warning, not to mention the author badly needed some knowledge of how pre-power technology farming and farming communities work.
The action scenes were disjointed, and often non-sequiturs. Ten against one is a heroic fight if the one can even come close to pulling it off - instead at least seven of the ten mysteriously have no method of being removed from the fight visible to the reader.
I don't like writing reviews like this. I would encourage this author to revise the story and try again.
This book starts off with Aveline and what she is going through which is heartbreaking. One day she gets some news from her father and that is when she decides to take matter into her own hands and sets off on an adventure. During her adventure she meets a dragon Aeolius who stays with her during her journey. She also makes friends along the way. There is a lot of action that goes on during her adventure that seems to test her. She is young, innocent and fragile until she encounters situations that will test her resolve. This story kept me reading til the end and did not want to put it down. I am definitely getting the rest of the series to find out how it all plays out. This is a great book to read.

Continue with your great work Michelle and hurry up with the next book please xx
This is a great YA and adult adventure. The characters are interesting and there are several tales going on with one main theme. The narrative is very helpful in describing the scenery and the feeling of the characters. The story is easy to read and the content is creative.
It is an interesting start to a series and I look forward to reading more.
An excellent beginning to a promising series.
