This is a great book and can definitely help you with your kids if you let it. The negative reviews clearly didn't want to try something different --- maybe because they think they know it all already. For me and my wife, we are very glad we got this and went through it with our small group.

FYI, don't just get the videos and participant's guide - get the book with it and read it along with the guide. For planning, the guide is 8 sessions long.

Although this book is a good guide to go along with the DVD teaching, the DVD itself is very hard to follow. It is all read directly from a telepromtor, and almost read word-for-word from the participant's guide. We have been thru several studies in our small group and this is about our least favorite. Sorry!

This boundaries book, specific to children, is a MUST read for parents in search of some sanity with their children. It's a great start to wonderfully effective parenting, teaching children to set some of their own internal boundaries! You will love it and it isn't rocket science, in fact it just might make sense, sense that we don't have in the heat of the moments!

It's merely a word-for-word transcription of what they are saying in the movie, with discussion questions. There are no suggestions given for what the answers to the questions ought to be, the questions are just thrown out there. I really need examples to go off of. Skip this and get the audiobook instead, it goes into much more detail.

Be very careful in ordering. I intended to get the book and ended up with the piece that goes along with the DVD. As other reviewers said, the DVD is almost word for word what is in this guide. It would be helpful if it was clearly noted which was the real book and which is the companion for the book.

Every parent should read this book. Not necessarily to fix anything but to be aware of the tendencies for even loving parents to do for their kids what they could be doing for themselves.

This book is definitely to live by. We found some of the questions to be hard or confusing but overall it has very good lessons to live by and teach your kids!
