The teenage years are a minefield and some people have likened it to an alien coming down and taking your beautiful child's mind temporarily for a period of time. What I know is that it is as confusing and challenging for our teenagers as it is for us, and one day, as we rise to this amazing gift that we have been given (raising our teens), they emerge as incredible young adults that we are so proud of. My oldest two just left home in the past year, and the changes I have seen in them are amazing, so all I can say is that something in this book helped me navigate this minefield. My youngest son is almost 16 and I'm about to read the book again, not to mention for help with my new stepdaughters!
Boundaries with Teens is priceless. The gems of wisdom inside are well worth the cost of purchase and the time it takes to read. I've met so many parents who write off their teens or have a "hands off" approach in these years, and the results I see in their kids' lives are discouraging and depressing. Our teens deserve so much more - they deserve us being hands-on as parents as they go through these last few years to becoming mature, godly young adults, prepared to leave home and reach for their dreams.
This is helpful - parenting teens is not easy...neither is it always fun (it can be tho!)...help is always welcome!
