In the ongoing effort to preserve our ties to the past, Karen's book, "A Bountiful Life," recreates this fabulous piece of American Folk Art. Like the antique quilt top, it is not quilted but is backed, tied and used as a summer spread or wall hanging. I'm so pleased that the designs are full-size and ready to use; no trips to the copy center to enlarge them. Get ready to begin stitching! --Jo Morton
About the Author
Karen Mowery began collecting Midwestern primitives, including antique quilt tops and sets of quilt blocks, in the 1970s. She also painted early American primitive portraits of children. She learned to quilt when she began to incorporate the antique quilt blocks into finished wall hangings.
Karen maintains a quilting blog and offers quilt patterns on her website. She lives in Atlanta, Georgia; she has one son, Timothy, who is a marine.

The patterns can be done by somebody with some applique experience and you end up with your own museum piece if you stick with it and work thru the book.
Some friends ordered patterns for this quilt from Australia for $70. I am very happy to be able to buy the book for a fraction of that price and hopefully, create my own masterpiece.
