I really enjoyed Bounty of the Everdark by Lilian Oake. The plot is fast-paced and exciting. I was hooked by the first page and I couldn't put the book down. I really enjoyed reading Bounty of the Everdark, because it had magical creatures, evil villains, and determined young heroes. The book shows that it isn't fair to judge one person by the actions of others of their kind. Lorel is an extremely likeable character, because she is smart, brave, and determined. The story is well written and descriptive, and very well developed and imaginative. The author introduces the reader to a beautiful magical world that they'll never want to leave. The many action scenes will keep the reader on the edge of their seat. I would recommend Bounty of the Everdark by Lilian Oake to fantasy fans. - Kristen Van Kampen, Readers' Favorite

Bounty of the Everdark is a perfectly formed short story. It plunges you straight into a fully realized fantasy world, with multiple races, languages and religions.
There are only a few characters in the piece but Lorel takes the spotlight. Her unswerving devotion to her people leads her to risking her life for a woman she's never met, all for the sake of building a fragile peace between humans and dark elves. She's strong and determined, totally understandable. The other characters are given less attention but none ring false.
The brevity of the story means there is little background given to the world beyond some brief descriptions. Rather than feeling this as something lacking with the story, it made me more curious about the world. The story feels like a window into a small area, with the just enough hints that there's a much greater story (or stories) beyond its edges.
Overall, Bounty of the Everdark is nice little read, well worth both your money and time.
Lilian Oake paints a powerful picture with expertly crafted prose. I felt welcomed into this world as her descriptive style of storytelling perfectly informed me of the relationships between the humans and dark elves, while leaving enough unanswered questions regarding the world's lore to make me want to come back for more.
A thrilling magical tale encapsulated in a short concise story. I'm glad this was my introduction to this world. I purchased "An Ogre's Tale" immediately after finishing! Can't wait to dive into that one! FIVE WONDERFUL STARS!
It can be a great tale for kids and very enjoyable for adults.
Without spoiling too much of the adventure, Lorel, a dark elf, seeks to maintain and establish a stronger relationship with the human race. To her demise, she discovers an attempt to ruin the relationship by kidnapping the incoming Queen. Towards the second-half of the story, Lorel, with a deep sense of courage, attempts to stand for her beliefs. In that, it leads to a quite shocking climax-action scene setting way for a quite adorable ending. The Bounty of the Everdark is a young adult fantasy short-story created to capture the attention of children in a new and exciting way. In my opinion, this story is not just for children, but also adults! Everyone could read this short-story and leave with a smile on their face.
This is incredible because, while the story may only be under 20 pages, it is easily worth more! Lilian Oake is making a name for herself in the fantasy industry and the young-adult industry. With numerous famous authors in the spotlight, it will not be long before she is up there. Not only is her writing style intriguing and captivating, it is easily comparable to the greatest in the genre, and industry. I recommend this book to an avid fiction and fantasy reader seeking for a quick, fun and, honestly, cheap read.
