I was looking for some Mesh Cotton bags to make my own anti-static bags for the dryer. I needed a bag of good quality so that the salt I put in the bag wouldn't all fall out in my dryer. This bags are holding up! I've had them for awhile now and I've not had to replace a single bag! They get used almost daily in our dryer and the bags are filled with Himalayan Salt. Not your typical use for the bags, but wanted to let you know that they hold up really well.

I have attached a picture. The dryer has maybe made the fibers a bit closer, but that's okay with me! They have not fallen apart despite the heat and being bounced around in my dryer.

I really like this item to keep spices separate from what you are cooking. I especially like it when I cook corned beef as I love the flavor the spices give the meat, but don't like the actual taste of some of the spices that come in that small little packet that comes with the brisket when you purchae it. With these little bags, I just pour the spices into the bag, place the bag in the pan with the brisket, and get all of the flavor without the spices ending up mixed throughout the cabbage. When the meat is finished cooking, I just take out the bag. You can either just throw the bag away, or you can dump the spices, clean the bag and reuse it.

I fill Bouquet Garni Mesh Self Closing bags with cedar cubes and rings. Then, I place a few cedar-filled bags into each of my under-the-bed storage boxes to deter bugs, such as moths, fleas and termites. These bags could be used in other ways. Filled with pot pourri, the porous, cotton bags would emit their delicious aromas as they simultaneously prevented direct contact between your garments and the color-bleeding pot pourri.

I was so happy to find these bags. I use these in my pressure cooker and slow cooker to season soups and stews with fresh herbs. The bags are so much more convenient than trying to tie herbs into cheesecloth. They allow the herbs to flavor food while eliminating the need to pick leaves and stems from the finished product. These bags can be washed and reused.

Wonderful as re-usable tea bags! Someone in another review I saw said that the opening was too small to easily spoon the tea into. I have to wonder if she was using a tablespoon or something! I use a regular teaspoon to put loose tea in these several times a day with no problems at all. I have arthritis in my hands, and even when they are painful I have no problems as these bags stay open nicely and are light and easy to close, unlike many other tea infusers. Easy to clean, too - turn inside out and rinse! They do stain, but what teabag wouldn't? And you're just going to use it for tea again anyway!

I used them in a fertilizer tea application. Bags did not hold up possibly from the acidity of the fertilizer. I can see they will be very good for cooking applications where you can put the herbs in the bag and cook away.

I make lemon balm tea every other night to help me sleep, and nothing will work to hold all the leaves in better. And I soak them in bleach and water overnight to keep the stains off and they work great.

Here was my problem: I wanted to make habanero pepper infused vodka, but every time I tried this I was faced with the issue of how to remove the peppers from the vodka bottle when the brew was hot enough. I finally found out about the existence of these bags and got on Amazon to find them. I ordered what will probably turn out to be a lifetime supply. The one I opened initially has been re-used three times so far. I typically slice up the peppers, put them in the bag, stuff them in the bottle, and taste for heat level each day. My experience has been that day 3 is when I remove the bag. The bag is equipped with a drawstring, and I use this to hang over the lip of the bottle before inserting the cork. I then lay the bottle on its side. Once the heat is where I want it, I simply uncork and remove the bag. Aside from infusing alcohol with aromatics, these bags can be used for infusing oils, vinegars, soups, etc. Inexpensive and easy-to-use.
