* Big boxes can be turned into a castle, or a rocket ship
* You can make a mask out of a piece of cardboard
* Swords and shields from cardboard
I did all of this (and many of the other projects in this book) as a kid without any guidance. If you aren't somebody that did a lot of creative play as a kid (or an adult) this would probably be a great book. As somebody that never grew up I don't feel like there was any real value to me other than a few small embellishments and details that I might not have come up with on my own.
On the plus side the instructions were all very clear with good photographs. The photos are of obviously boxes from around the house (milk cartons, shipping containers, etc.) so the instructions are easy to follow.
Depending on how much time you want to spend decorating, many of the projects in this book can be assembled in less than an hour. A lot of the projects don’t require too much precise measuring or lots of cuts. The DK book does.
So bottom line Box is great for younger kids and can easily be adapted for old ones.
