There are so many producers of styluses for iPads and similar devices that's it's hard to know where to start. Well, I started with some cheap ones simply because of price. Many such inexpensive ones have a plain rubber tip, which while doing the trick (smudge-free screen), tends to burst after just a few weeks of use. I burned through a dozen or so in pretty short order. So, I found these BoxWaves and decided to give them a try, despite their considerably higher price. I was concerned, at the outset, about the mesh tip, wondering if it might scratch the screen. However, other reviews did not mention any such issue, so I purchased three. I have been extremely happy with them. They last a lot longer than other brands, and have just the right "touch" for me. My wife likes them so much that I bought her some to give to her sisters. There are two minor quibbles. One is that the mesh can seem to get plugged with screen gunk, dust, etc., limiting their effectiveness after a few weeks of use. I solve this by (a) regularly cleaning my screen and (b) gently wiping the tip with a moistened lens-cleaning cloth and drying with a microfiber fabric. Actually, use precisely same technique for screen and tip. This extends the life considerably. The other minor quibble is that the handy attachment that inserts into the headphone jack is not as sturdy as it might be, thus storing it that way is not possible after a short time. On the other hand, the stylus is magnetic, so it does stick to my iPad cover. All in all, this is the best stylus I've found and I certainly recommend it. Let me add that this particular stylus does NOT work as well as plain rubber-tipped ones for the iPad mini. I have no idea why, unless it has something to do with the type of glass and coating.

I am a Samsung Note user who recently went back to the iPhone brand when Apple started making larger screens.

One of the things I loved about the Samsung Note III was its stylus. I have become a stylus addict over the years since owning the Note. So much easier to navigate through the phone, taking notes, and never having my fingers touch the screen and leave greasy marks.

So, when I switched to the iPhone 6 Plus, I knew I had to have a stylus.

This is my third stylus that I have tried with the phone. The other two I had purchased were fine. However, the one perk that this stylus has above all the others is the included tether cord extension.

When you own an iPhone or iPad that does not have a built-in holder (like the Samsung devices have), it's very easy to lose your stylus. Trust me, I have lost two of them in the past month. You put them in your pocket, they fall out. All of the styluses that I have picked up to date have had this very short cord on them that you connect to the headphone jack of your phone. It's too short to keep the cord connected when using the stylus. You have to disconnect the cord while in use.

THIS Boxwave stylus is uniquely different. It comes with an extra-long tethering cord with stretchy spring that allows you to keep your stylus connected to the phone. No, it's not the most attractive way to use the stylus, but it is the most functional.

The stylus itself is fine. It tracks nicely across my iPhone. As with all other styluses, the round mesh head is a bit too big to do any serious note taking on the phone or iPad. I haven't really come across any fine-point versions like the ones that come with the Samsung phones. Still, this stylus has an excellent build quality and it seems to get the job done.

The only problems I generally have with these styluses is that the coating starts to flake off after a couple months. Not certain if this brand of stylus will have that problem or not. Will report back if it does.

I ordered this BoxWave Capacitive Stylus for Apple iPad 3 (Jet Black) from Amazon.com for my new iPad (third generation). I'm new to the tablet scheme and I've always wanted one of these (both the iPad and stylus) to draw and write with. This stylus without a doubt is the one I need.

What I liked about this stylus:
- For the price and reputation this pen has, I thought it was a steal compared to brick and mortar stores where their pricing starts at around $15.
- Comes with a nifty headphone jack plug anchor (no idea what to call it) that keeps me from losing the stylus.
- Also comes with a clip to clip things to, I clip this on top of my Bear Motion ® Premium Folio Case for iPad 3 and anchor plugged into the jack.
- Smooth writing, this glides like a pen on my screen.
- Decently weighted, it feels slightly heavier than your average pen.
- A metal material (except for the anchor and tip of course).
- Minimalist design.
- Perfect for writing, drawing, etc. (I use it a lot for the game "Draw Something", very addicting game).
- What more can I say with a stylus?

What I didn't like with this stylus:
- It's slightly shorter than your average pen, so it may feel a little odd to hold at first.
- The chain that holds the pen and anchor gets a little noisy at times, but bearable.

Overall, there is nothing notably bad about this pen. The price is cheap, the quality is good and I would consider buying another one of these if this pen gets misplaced. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a stylus pen.

General Tips:
- The pen does not require much force to register on the screen, I use about the same pressure I would put in as using a marker.
- Using a stylus may feel odd at first, but should feel like second nature after extended use.
- My iPad has a screen protector, but it's the smooth dry application one ( myGear Products "The new iPad" & Apple iPad 2 Screen Protectors 4 PACK Films to be exact). So far it's very smooth the use for me. I would guess the "orange peel" type protectors is not smooth enough for a stylus, that's why it might break (in theory. But I could be wrong.).

I'll update this review in the future if the tip ever breaks off from regular use.
