Inexpensive converter from European to US plug

This is a simple way to convert a European plug to a US plug. If you travel internationally, you're probably used to carrying conversion plugs. In my case, I have a universal 6 outlet power switch that accepts power from 110 to 240 volts. Obviously, you can't plug something into it that's not going to be able to handle the power in the country your in but most electronics these days can handle the variety. What they can't handle is the plug itself.

KRIGER Universal power strip AC 110-220-240V surge protector for computer, printers, 6 universal AC outlets KR136

It's a KRIGER Universal power strip and works quite well. You can purchase it on Amazon.

The universal power strip has a European plug so the Boxwave allows me to simply plug the power strip into it so that I can use it in the USA as well as in foreign countries.
It's a simple and inexpensive solution.

Feel funny writing a review on such a small item, but here goes. I've gone through my fair share of adapters (especially having lived in Europe for awhile). These conversion adapters can be three things: too tight, too loose or just right. This BoxWave adapter is the latter... just right! Nice and snug going on with no chance of letting go of the European plug. Proper fit on the American side too. Good product at a good price!

This product is functional. I mean it is what it is. The quality in material and workmanship is not all too impressive but its not flimsy either. I havent had it for more than a week so I cant really testify to its true quality, but it is if not anything else sturdy. I do not see any markings on it to assure me that it is UL compliant so maybe it is and maybe it isnt. If this is a concern for you than you need further research because this product does not have any oem packaging labels to indicate such info. In conclusion what you really want to know is if I would buy it again and the answer to that after 1 week of use is that I would.

Adapter works great. No issues so far and no problems with plug being too loose. It is working as intended. Using it on my Sony 4k hdtv that I bought overseas when I was stationed in England. They get all their electronics from Germany and i needed this when I moved back to the States. I'm glad the TV is dual voltage. That is one major thing people need to understand when getting power adapters, they don't change the incoming voltage. So you need to be aware what voltage the device you are plugging in can handle. Otherwise you risk electrical fire or damaged electronics. If you need the change the voltage you need a step-up or step-down transformer along with these adapters. Also to the people complaining about only getting one adapter, learn to read the product description. The picture is just to show what the item looks like on different sides.

very disappointed in this. we bought this conversion plug as we host exchange students every year and s you know, the plugs for their laptops, chargers, etc are much different (usually bigger) than ours. Knowing their devices will charge and operate just fine on 110 volts / 60 Hz, all we needed was something to convert the plug.

now this DOES do what is intended, but the spring just does not hold up. plug something in it twice, maybe 3 times, and then their plugs start falling out of this adapter. Kind of like those 65 cent outlets you get at Home Depot, as long as you don't have to plug something into them more than a couple times, you are good.

Keep looking. this is NOT the one you want.

My hair straightener of four years finally fizzled out on a trip to France last Fall and I had to buy a new one while on vacation. Hence, when I got back to the states I had a brand new $70+ hair straightener that I couldn't use because of the difference in plugs. I wasn't about to toss something I'd only used for a few weeks or go buy a brand new one at the same cost just because the plug was different. Enter this little adapter! It works great, does what it is supposed to do and for the price, I can't imagine you could get a better deal.

I have another trip coming up and will need yet another adapter, so I'll def. be looking at BoxWave for my needs.

Beware, the photo is incorrect/misleading. There is only 1 adapter per quantity purchased, not 2. I purchased only half as many as I intended, right before a big trip.

If you want to be well prepared on power, I recommend this combination:

It was delivered Feb 11th and there was only 1 adapter.
It was hard to put on my one plus charger coz the pin holes were too tight.
Works fine though.
