His family and her grandmother seem to think Cori is just who he needs in his life. His sister Kate doesn't! Cori and Kate are BFF's too. Kate warns him of his DEATH if he hurts Cori.
Then the unthinkable happens, they KISS and his life is forever turned on its axis. What happens to them is tragic and laughable on many fronts.
His was a funny and revealing adventure in the discovery of what love is and the person who was and is your other half.
I LOVED this story and celebrate how it was told by a woman who pulled back the covers on the male mind and way of doing things..GREAT READ..
How do you balance out having sinful thoughts and feelings for your best friend, wanting the relationship to be more, yet being hesitant because you are afraid that if you cross the line it might put your friendship in jeopardy?
Cori was genuinely sweet and uncomplicated while Dean was a charming manwhore; a mr-know- all; dishing out outrageous advice, that made me laughed so hard, I couldn't stop turning the pages.
The Boy Friend is sensuously hot and steamy and packed with humor. It was fresh and engaging with a lovable hero and heroine and a delightful group of secondary characters who helped to bring a realistic feel to the story and made it flow smoothly and freely. If you are looking for a funny, sexy and emotional roller coaster ride then Dean is the man for you... I meant, this is the book for you. I would definitely recommend this book because It has easily became one of my favorites.
Mika Jolie continues to grow. She is one of my favorite authors. Every time I've read one of her books, I'd felt like it's her best one yet and then I get to the next one and I'm doing it all over again. I can honestly say she's done it again. This is another one of her sizzling masterpiece. How will she ever be able top this one. I'm excited for what's to come.
First off this is told from the point of view of a guy. Yes a guy. Not just any guy but a manslut whose best friend since grade school is a girl. Now this has caused problems over the years….oh not between them but whoever they are dating at the time. Seems the other person doesn't want the competition of a same sex best friend. I think Dean Morello is in the closet about liking his best friend, Coriander Phillips. When Cori drops the bomb one evening at dinner that she wants to have a baby with the love of a good man. Dean seems to get pretty irritated and when she cancels a standing date they have Dean is not happy until she reschedules.
Cori decides she wants the whole fairytale and online dating will provide it. Being so worldly Dean says that is not the way to go. She is determined so he says he will help her find the perfect guy by writing a questionnaire for the potentials. He happens to answer all the questions himself and the answers he gives…..yeah he's in the closet.
Cori and Dean have been best friends for 20 years. They have never crossed the line….until that one night they shared a kiss. Now Dean doesn't know what to think other than he wants to do it again. Ok it was kinda hard reading this at times. Because I am a female and this was written in the males perspective only. It started off exactly like I feel guys think but then I got very frustrated with Dean as he was working out his feelings for Cori. Then again when he was so worried of losing her and he had mutiple times he could take the step to fix the problem...BUT he choked every time. I know he has commitment phobia to get over but I really just wanted to shake him and say…...look at what you are missing!
I am a huge Mika Jolie fan. I love her books and The Boy Friend was no exception. This is the first book I have read that is only a males point of view. It was different and took a bit to get used to. Seriously, men are crude sometimes! We did meet a few new characters Dean sister, Kate, Luc and Cam along with the parents of Dean. I look forward to reading about these crazy guys in the future. It was interesting to see Luc and Cam bug Dean about opening up about his girl problems. I didn't think guys really talked like women do.
They have been friends for 20 years, when some things starts to change.
Dean hasn't given the thought one secound before, but now, he sees his best friend as something more.
It could change everything. It's a risk alright, but he is determined to try it out.
He can see it clearly. How amazing they can be together.
There's just a couple of questions.
Will she love him back?
If he goes for it, what will happen to their friendship?
I loved their friendship. The characters where realistic and I could picture this actually happen, in real life.
Mika Jolie is really good with the details and you feel really included in the way she writes. She also doesn't hold back.
(It's really hot.)
This book actually felt short, in that way that you'll want more.
It's a page turner for sure. I couldnt put it away.
Recommended to all over 18+ (just because its so hot)
