Vanayssa Somers has an amazing talent for intertwining romance with intrigue in her world of faeries and the real world. She has a magical ability to draw us in with her words feeling the love and romance between Melchior, the faery king and his earthy bride to be, Theresa, while feeling revulsion and fear toward the evil wizard they are pitted against in their desire to save young children from his evil grasp. She not only has brought us into the imaginary secret world of the faeries but approaches the dark, evil side of real life. It would be very beneficial for all to read, especially young people, to be reminded of the reality of the evils of the human slave trade. With education comes power. I commend Ms. Somers for bringing this terrible social problem into her story line along with her ability to entertain us with an intriguing story of romance and magic.

Vanayssa Somers had done it again. She brings the characters to life and does her research in the details. As hard as it is to read the truth about human trafficking, it is a truth that needs to be gotten out and the public made to understand the horrors that not only women but young children, both boys and girls are forced to endure as sex and other types of slavery. The book is not all horror stories concerning human trafficking. Vanayssa Somers brings back her two lead characters from Pagan Flames to continue their eternal love story. Great read with truth mixed with fantasy.

First of all,

I commend the author on tackling a real and true frightening reality. She does not hold back. It was during these pages, I had to read with one eye. It was tough to experience the evil happening to children. On the other hand, The hero/heroine are so well done, I hated to say good bye to the King and his human love. When the author wrote about them, she really sparkled. She did a great job showing the contrasting fears and joys and the triumph of the human spirit. How this alone would be supernatural if we'd only see it in ourselves. A great read, one that will hold you and keep you, but maybe not for the truly sensitive. Definitely for adults only which brings me to my only beef with the book.

The title and the cover. This appears at first glance to be Young Adult suitable for teens. Its not. The subject matter is very sensitive. The author is exceptionally skilled with sensual writings and dealing with dark matter. I felt like there should be a reminder in the descriptions that this is for the over 18 reader.

I anxiously await another book from this author.

Vanayssa Somers' skillful writing has created a beautiful blend of fantasy and reality, which brings attention to the very real and morbid problem of human trafficking. It's title may create the illusion of innocence, but Ms. Somers has left little to the imagination when describing the horrific scenario of suffering, which spurs her hero and heroine into action. However, when it comes to heros, the real hero of the story is a brave young boy called Jim.

I quickly engaged with her main characters, Melchior, King of Avalon and Theresa, his true love and soon to be Queen. Their uncensored passion and eternal love, bought to life by the artful descriptions of romance and sexual desire that leaves no doubt in your mind that they were destined to be together.

The villain in the story is characterized well. Ms Somers brings out personality traits that I feel personifies the type of person who could easily be the ring leader for this type of crime....abuse of children.

I highly recommend this book as I found it to be an easy and compelling read. Even though it is about a very serious and real crime, happening right on our doorstep; the integration of the fantasy element leaves you with a feeling of hope. For those of us who are more spiritually inclined it really gives a boost to feelings of help from outside realms.
