WANTED - ROOMMATE - FARM HOUSE - FOREST HILLS - DISCOUNT ON RENT WITH HELP. $450.00/MONTH, Casey decides to check it out since money was running low. When he gets there, a grizzly looking man opens the door. Casey tells him he is inquiring about the ad and the man only stated, "I cancelled that ad". Casey, looking like a cold and shivering puppy, finds that the man has left the door open for him, stating "You coming or not". Trying to convince the man, Casey tells Hunter, "I'm a hard worker and as sane as they come." Hunter still not convinced, decides to let him stay and work out the initial deposit arrangements but for one month. During that time, at first a confusing relationship develops between them. especially for Hunter because he was "straight". But as time goes on, he begins developing strange feelings for Casey. Casey tells Hunter about him being "gay" because Hunter is adamant about honesty. Casey and Hunter develop a nice working relationship and Casey tells him about McDermott and about the coming reunion he was going to. Both Casey and Hunter are fighting their own feelings about each other. One day at the store, Hunter meets McDermott, and Casey tells him that Hunter is his boyfriend. AT that point McDermott tells Casey that he has moved on and is in a relationship. Hunter plays along with Casey. Casey grooms Hunter into a more sophisticated young man for the reunion, which does not go well with Hunter, but they seemed to manage to agree. They go through an almost sexual encounter which doesn't go through due to a call by McDermott.. Hunter telling Casey he needs to decide in his mind about McDermott and goes to bed by himself. While getting ready for the reunion, Hunter cuts his hair and cleans up nicely into a very handsome man. When the reunion comes the two very happily appear as a couple, dance, and almost kiss until McDermott comes around. The truth comes out when McDermott's girlfriend comes in. Casey stands up for himself and they eventually end up leaving to go home. On the way home they have a flat tire and in the middle of the night end up in a sleeping bag after a discussion whether Casey should leave now that the reunion is over. Hunter does not want him to. With two hot bodies/one sleeping bag, emotions explode between them. They both realized what they both wanted. Home and each other. This is a very sweet love story and Jamie did an excellent job portraying the ever growing love these two had for each other. Well done Jamie.
Anyway, it is a sweet book and a quick read. This is the first from this author and I would try another one to see.
The lack of kindness and the lies. But in the end the better man won. He learned how with a better individual..Finding the man who became his friend, having a place not only in his heart but a home forever.
The prom was hilarious reminded me of several of mine too with the glitter the look and how others had changed and Casey had grown in himself and with his boyfriend.
