This stand works as advertised - It provides a nearly upright position for your phone to rest in while plugged in. Set it near your workspace and it is very easy to see any incoming texts, etc. on your phone.

The clever design also means it will work with any phone that charges from the bottom. Simply snake the charging cable through the slot underneath the sticky surface and into the base of your phone. I had previously tried to use the official Apple iPhone stand for the 5/5s. However that stand was custom-designed for a 5/5s with no case/cover and so I had to remove the phone from its case to stand it up in Apple's device. Not cool.

The one drawback to THIS stand is that the surface that holds your phone is a bit TOO sticky. I found I had to pick up the stand and really pry at my phone to get it loose. That may be partly due to the stickiness of the back I have on my phone. Regardless, that was looking to be a significant drawback till I came up with a hack: I took the protective film from the bottom sticky surface and used it to cover half of the phone surface. Cutting the sticky surface down by half seems to work well - the phone still stays in place, but is now fairly easy to remove.

Update: I've been using this daily for several months. Inevitably some of the excess stickiness has worn off and accumulated dust and debris rendered both sticky surfaces as LESS than ideally sticky. I found I could easily rinse and clean with water, let dry and most of the stickiness returned. Fortunately, not AS much as it had originally, which was too much. Still vary pleased with this stand.

WOW! I almost bought a larger, more expensive product that did the same thing! Saved a lot of money in the decision. This little unit stays put (on my glass drafting table), and my iPad Mini-3 stays attached firmly while I'm swiping across the screen. Absolutely no wobble, no tilting, no issues what-so-ever. Well made, very "Apple-esque" in design. Matches all of my Apple products perfectly and is light weight and very well made. It works very well in either the landscape or portrait position. Highly recommend!

LOVE my NanoTek Stand. Anyone that doesn't love their stand just hasn't figured out how to use it! It's a little tricky getting the feel for cleaning the surface. Just use water, maybe sometimes add a little dish detergent and it cleans up just fine, rubbing with only my fingers - nothing much else or you'll ruin it (I think! - could be wrong on that) - but that's all I use, . I use mine all the time. I have one on my nightstand, one on my desk and one on my granite next to my rolling pin. The one next to my rolling pin gets a lot of muck here and there - olive oil and flour mostly - and it cleans up and works again and again. Sometimes it even makes the trek out to the woodshop. Did I say that I LOVE my NanoTek Stand? It's amazingly the most useful thing. I even had it on my dryer - while my dryer was running - and it did a fine job of holding my Galaxy S5. The S5 is tricky with the back though - it only works really tight in landscape mode because of the texture and the way the camera lense is positioned. Portrait mode is fine on a not-jiggly surface though. (I can only get about 1/2 of the back attached in portrait mode and keep it plugged in right. Might be a user issue.)

Holy Crap does it work!
I brought this expecting to be sorely disappointed, and I was anything BUT.
First off the stand does not leave ANY sticky residue at all, but it is capable of holding strong to near anything with a relatively smooth surface, and sticks with little to no effort. And when I say sticks, I mean it holds SUPER STRONG. I was able to place the phone side to a glass table and pull with quite a significant amount of force and it did not give way. I then went around the house sticking it to as many surfaces as possible and pulling laterally on the stand to see how much grip it had on various surfaces. Simply stated, as long as your device weighs less than about 20 pounds, it will not slide off. In fact the only thing the stand would not hold firm to was my bumpy walls, the box which it arrived in, and the dash of my car - but honestly who's going to use this stand there?
On all surfaces, after setting it down and pulling laterally, no residue or evidence in general was left. Quite impressive.

The stand itself is a pretty strong thick aluminum. The edges do feel a bit sharp, but nowhere near sharp enough to cut the user or wiring, though I do wish the edges were rounded a bit more. That's honestly my ONLY complaint.
This review was written after having the device for 1 week, if anything changes in my review I will edit accordingly. But as of this point in time, if you need a simple stand, I highly recommend this.

Update: It's been 3 months and this stand is still holding strong. Though I will say in many cases it's TOO STRONG of a hold. When I pry my phone (inside of a case) off the unit, I physically see the case flexing, then hear it snap as I finally free it.
