Yes, I can imagine the title of my review may make some gag a little bit. I have curly hair that struggles with the balance between moisture and protein. Liquid aminos have been a game changer with balancing my hair out. I add a few drops to a neutral co-wash and it works it’s magic. I know it may sound gross to add a food product to hair but the scent rinses out and it helps tighten and strengthen my curls.

My wife ordered this for some holistic reason (I'm not a hippy so I don't know why). I ran out of soy sauce and wanted to marinade my beautiful ribeye steak, and I saw this bottle said "blah blah soy substitute" so I tried it. Holy cow (hope you're not offended as a result of being Hindu), but this was the best base for a marinade I've ever used! It tenderized the meat and took no time at all.

Make sure you don't marinade it longer than 20-30 minutes because it will be too salty.

I can't wait for my next steak with this stuff. (I still have no clue what my wife uses it for since she doesn't eat steak).

Love this stuff. I've overhauled my eating in the past year and have been in a constant adventure of discovering new foods to include in my new lifestyle. As new, healthier choices come in, some undesirables have to go: regular condiments like soy sauce, ketchup, ranch, and mayo are out. I found myself having trouble finding options for health-conscious flavoring for my vegetables and meats. I have been reading Tim Ferriss and Aubrey Marcus's books and both have mentioned the coconut aminos, so I thought I'd give it a try. I didn't realize how delicious it was going to be. Where soy sauce is strong on the salt, this has more of a salty-sweet flavor and a syrupy consistency. I dip my broccoli and cauliflower in it; I season my beef with it; and I've baked shrimp in a thick coat of it. I found out a few says ago that my wife has been using it also. Now, if I could just get her to eat her vegetables!

When I first tried the liquid aminos I was not impressed. I have since found that it really lends itself to some recipes a lot better that tamari or soy sauce. It is sort of a trial and error experience, but when you hit on the recipe it goes with it is fabulous. I love it in almost any recipe with mushrooms and do not add salt or much other seasoning because the Liquid Aminos seasons perfectly. I have had to reorder since I have gone through the first bottle that I bought to try. All I can say is try it in a lot of different recipes, it is probably a matter of personal taste, but then most foods are. I love the flavor it adds to recipes and find it is great as a substitute for salt and/or soy sauce.

Oh my. I did not expect it to be so tasty. For those of us who love asian flavors but need to have less sodium intake, this is a good soysauce alternative. The taste reminds me of Kikkoman Terriyaki sauce but does’t have the thickness, calories, or sodium. It has a touch of sweet, a touch of sour, and a bit of the umami you want.

Nice Substitute if You Can’t Use Regular Soy Sauce

I bought Liquid Aminos after reading the soybeans in soy sauce are usually fermented and many contain MSG; both ingredients can contribute to migraines. Ughh. My favorite ingredient for marinades is now tabu. Why do I read so much?? I never would’ve known. :) But it definitely has helped not using soy sauce and other foods. So I had to find a substitute, and most recommended Bragg Liquid Aminos. As many said, it tastes very salty, though the ingredients don’t show any added, but I definitely need to decrease any salt or salted seasoning when marinading. The soybeans used aren’t fermented, so that’s great. Liquid Aminos tastes good, but it definitely does not have the richness or color of regular soy sauce. But thankfully there is a substitute around like Liquid Aminos, and like most things, we adapt, so I recommend it if you are unable to use regular soy sauce.

Buyer - BEWARE!

I excitedly order this item. Could wait for it to arrive. What a total disappointment. I eagerly opened the box and discovered the bottom of the box was soaked with the product. It was sealed in plastic and the lids were sealed with plastic. The labels on the bottles were soaked and liquid was all over the plastic "package". What a mess. There was no way I could open the packaging without getting it all over.

I tried to return the defective items. There is a NO RETURN policy on it. Too bad I didn't know before I ordered it. Now I'm out the money as well as the product. How disappointing!

This turned out to be so tasty!! It's sweet and salty, with a very, very slight tang to it. It's a bit thick, not watery. It's great as a marinade, salad dressing, really good on all the meat's I've tried this with (chicken, pork, beef). It's actually pretty strong and potent to me, so I've been experimenting and mixing it with a little bit of water depending on what I'm using it for. For example, as salad dressing I would mix it with a little bit of water. For meats, I would use it as is (with ginger, garlic, and pepper, as well). But it's just a matter of preference, really.

I would not use this as a substitute for soy sauce because this is too sweet for that. Soy sauce has no sweetness to it. There is a different non-coconut product called "Bragg Liquid Aminos Seasoning" that would be much more appropriate as a soy sauce substitute. If you look at the ingredients, they are only "Vegetable Protein From Soybeans And Purified Water". That non-coconut product, which is also available on Amazon, would be perfect as a soy sauce substitute.

I have always trusted Bragg's products after being a lifelong consumer of their famous apple cider vinegar. I also own several of Bragg's books so let's just say I took the quality and purity of their products as granted. Well boy was I wrong! After getting slowly addicted to this delicious soy sauce, I had a feeling something was wrong as I heard a lot of bad things about soy. But not Bragg's, just like their ACV, it is a high quality organic natural fermented product right? WRONG!

After doing some research, I found out those liquid aminos are nothing more than the result of a chemical process which has nothing to do with natural fermentation. An unnatural process is used to artificially extract the desired components and the result is something... well not so healthy.

They used to advertise "no sodium, no MSG" on the bottle but had to remove it because there obviously is sodium which is normal I guess for a soy sauce, but the MSG is completely unacceptable as it is very bad for the body and extremely addictive. I would never have expected to find this in a product from Bragg's but here we are.

If like me you want a healthy alternative to commercial soy sauces, don't get Bragg's. Instead, get Kikkoman - a true fermented soy sauce made the traditional way. You will smell and taste the difference.

If all you care about is the taste though, Bragg's liquid aminos are delicious. But so are bugers, pizzas and ice creams!

taste is fine and it is wheat (gluten) free, fermented, an umami enhancing alternative. one star needed no go for being pure soy (allergies and environmental issues) and the second one because of single use plastic bottle (no go). also it's natural without preservatives but not organic and rather expensive. all in all i would give 2,5 stars if possible and i will not order it again.

Am addicted to Bragg’s, even prefer it to soy sauce. At this price though, I’d expect the bottle to come in better shape than it does. It’s been received with a smashed bottle top almost EVER SINGLE TIME! C’mon Amazon, what the hell do you do with the product before you put it in the box? At least this time the protective top didn’t come undone and spill once opened. That, I can be grateful for.

Seriously love this stuff and love that it’s a more healthy version of my beloved soy sauce. We use this for stir fried, making sauces and marinades and just adding to food for that umami flavour.

Will definitely be purchasing again though have noticed cost has shot you and the bottles are smaller than when I first purchased. Possibly as imported and affected by Covid 19 pandemic/ importing reduction?

Either way, still worth it due to it being a healthier alternative to soy sauce!
