The fantastic, bittersweet Sarah McLachlan song featured in the film "The Brave One" is titled "Answer" and can be found on her 2003 album "Afterglow".

Somehow I thought that a "score" from a movie was the songs sung in various parts of the movie. This CD is great but it is the instrumental portion of the movie and does not include any songs that various artists "sang." It's still very good but I actually wanted the song by Sarah McLachlen, etc., not the "score." So...buyer beware!

There seems to be some confusion with reviewers on what a score/soundtrack to a movie is. A soundtrack may contain background music (score), songs, dialog, sound effects, etc. Anything sound related to a movie. The score is the background music which is usually instrumental (generally orchestral or electronic) written by a composer for the film. In this case the soundtrack contains only the score. Some movies generate song soundtracks only or seperate song and score soundtracks, but the norm is for score only or score plus a song or 2. Just check carefully the description.

In this case, at the top it says by Dario Marianelli who is the composer of the score. Since all the music was written by him there is no need to say who wrote each piece in the track descriptions below. When there is a mix of composers, songwriters or artists on a soundtrack, they are then usually listed next to the tracks they are responsible for.

Hope this helps some. I understand buying something and not getting what you thought you were going to get. I have collected over a thousand soundtracks, but unlike most of you, for the instumental score only and have been burned several times by getting a disk full of songs which I don't want. Different point of view, same outcome!

This score works very well, though I wish the songs used had been included. My favourite bit was the diner scene towards the end where Elvis Presleys version of You Dont Know Me was used very effectively, indeed it struck me as the most Neil Jordan moment in the whole film.

It is amazing what someone will do when their life does a complete turn around, due to a criminal act done against them. With a devastating loss and nowhere to turn for help, she has the task of facing her personal act revenge in her new daily life of a recovering victim.

This soundtrack is disappointing in that some songs in the movie are not on the cd!!! This cd carries only the background tracks which are heard in specific scenes, the Sara McLachan songs are not on it and her music is the best thing about the soundtrack!!!!

I loved the score music of course but am really disappointed to find thet all the extra songs were ommitted. I can recommend this for new classics and sountrack lovers, but not for those who expect every song they heard and loved in the movie.

I think the artists deserve to be named and played, their songs create the unique atmosphere of the movie and should be part of the soundtrack.
