This book covers the emotional road one must take as they traverse the ups and downs of life. The joys of remembrance are mixed with the bitter aftertastes of the downsides.
Ms Webb-Pullman takes us on the journey with her. A painful trip that wrenches at the heart as she watches her beloved Mother "fade to black". But from this observer's viewpoint there are always two sides to the coin. I watched her lose her Mother but find her own true inner self along that pathway of pain and tears.
This book reinforces Ms Webb-Pullman's place in New Zealand (and world) poetry. I have given it five stars and I highly recommend it.
If you only read one poetry book this year, make it this one.
