A lot of things went wrong for Aden and Remy the first time they found each other and fell in love. The sorrow and regret from both men are portrayed so realistically that, of course, I was crying. (Dang. This author might make me cry more than any other.) There is something in both Remy and Aden that is calling out to the other and they can't walk away. Their journey back to each other is very emotional; there is love and forgiveness and humor and reconnection.
There are so many beautifully written phrases and conversations in this book. I am constantly amazed that the author crafts her words in a way that is so poetic, I am struck time and time again. Some of my favorites from this book:
"It seemed wrong for such a beautiful love to be so destructive."
"I don't know about you, but I don't want to live in a world where, no matter how sorry you are, no one ever forgives anyone."
I waited anxiously for this book to become available and now I will start the wait for the next in the series. It's not necessary to read these books in order, but it certainly adds to the total enjoyment.
Remy is a professional boxer and finds himself in Aden's gym. He is a title holder and has the world at his feet but is miserable.
Both Boston and Gunnar are in this book along with Drew from the No Rival series and Gunnar sums up this book perfectly when he says to Remy, "you for forgiving him and loving him back. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to live in a world where, no matter how sorry you are, no one ever forgives anyone.”
