Meet the Trainer - Leondro
Leandro Carvalho is a fitness innovator who brings many influences from his native Brazil to his training techniques. His exercise techniques are so effective, top lingerie models rely on him to help lift their backsides without adding bulk to their thighs. Many of his success stories can also be seen on the runways of Paris, Milan, and New York. In the fashion world, Leandro is known as the supermodel's secret to a perfect butt.
Armed with an extensive dance résumé and a degree in physical therapy, Leandro launched his career in New York City, where he began working with legendary choreographer Merce Cunningham. I finally lost 25 pounds on medifast without exercise which was great and easy, but again, I looked in the mirror and realized I had no tone and I was "skinny fat". I knew I had to make a change but I really hate exercising. In my mind, all the Victoria's Secret models just look that way by not eating. I finally started to realize that I needed to get off my droopy butt and do something about it. Kicking and screaming, I decided to start BBL.
Six days a week for 45 to 75 minutes? That is a lot for an already busy mom but I decided to at least try it for 30 days. I will do half of the workout in the morning and then the rest when I get home. I have stuck to it. And shockingly, I am starting to see my body changing. After two days on it I said to my husband that nothing was changing and I wanted to stop (if I don't see results fast, I get impatient). He assured me that if I stuck to it that I would see changes. It has been two weeks and I already see a difference. My measurements are decreasing and I am definitely seeing subtle changes in my saddlebags. I am not losing weight but I honeslty think it is because I only have about five pounds to lose (and I am having hormonal issues...this is a whole other story). What I really like about this DVD series is that I think it will work for me later as I become more "advanced" since you can gradually add weight. It is great for beginners though because it doesn't seem to stress out your body too much and you can work up to certain things. I don't love "cardio axe" personally so I get on the treadmill and do some burst training for 12 to 15 minutes instead of the 35 minute long cardio, or I will substitute it with cardio from another series to mix it up.
I also forgot to mention that I also suffer from chronic pain in my shoulder and back. Since doing some exercise, I feel less pain daily. I can also now do some push-ups!
So, I am almost 60 days into this and I think my body has hit a plateau. I took before and after pictures and there is definitely a change in my "saddlebags" and in my butt. I am still trying to reshape but have been told that I need to mix up my routine every 4-6 weeks. I will add the bum bum, sculpt and high and tight for sure to my future workouts but for now, I'm moving on. This is a great series to have in your arsenal.
Basically, if you're looking for a workout that REALLY targets your lower half, this is EXACTLY the series you're looking for.
I do caution you to take it at your own pace if you're a beginner at working out because these are fairly intense.
