Brother in Masonry & Traditional Country Music!
He loved his friends and family. This showed in his generosity toward them.
I certainly want to read the next book. I hope his books sell VERY well.
Jesse became to learn and slowly embrace the American lifestyle, which led him to become a hard worker, which indeed paid off. His hard work and dedication never failed him despite the storms of life he would and had faced. One of things that Jesse had a deep passion and love for was music, which kept him going in the difficult times and he would pursue that with all of his heart. He pursued music so much so, that he eventually made his way to Nashville working at the Grand Ole Opry, which propelled him to move forward in the music industry after a series of events and people who helped him.
I go could on and on about his life story, but it's way more enjoyable if YOU read it! I promise, you won't be able to put it down. This book is emotional at times, especially when you read about the stuff he endured as a child. You will be happy and rooting for him and you will also feel a pit in your stomach at the deep turmoil he faces through the disappointments of this life. However, his trials and perseverance never made him lose sight of his music dream/ career. If he did not go through all the deep anguish, he would not be the wonderful musician he is now. Jesse isn't just some guy who overcame a bunch of obstacles, but he overcame many spiritual ones as well. This book shows the history of his life, pursuing your dream to the fullest extend even when it gets difficult and letting God work in your life when things feel impossible. At times this book felt long, but it was well worth the read.
I would recommend this book to anyone pursuing a dream who is feeling discouraged or I would recommend this book to teenagers getting ready to pursue college. You will be so encouraged by this book. This is perfect for anyone going after a goal. I look forward to his next book as I felt motivated to do something big.
One time he played with a police gun at his father's bar and he was given another beating.
"Wow! I took a licking for that one, but again, I did not know what I was doing. I quickly learned there were consequences for such an action, though my dad certainly learned a less, as well, about leaving a gun laying in front of a curious little child. Yes, lessons were learned by both of us that day.!" pg. 23, 24
He was the eldest of three children and when dad left, as he did a few times, he was sent initially to live with his aunt and uncle, up until they could handle the upheaval in their home no more. It was while living here that he was exposed to his uncles' collection of music: classical, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Motown and Gospel.
"Mere words are non-existent when I attempt to describe how much joy that beautiful music brought into my life day by day." pg. 33
Jesse's mom was very much into the occult and this wreaked havoc on this family, and we learn some of this in the book. The average reader may find this hard to believe, but having read the Bible, know it's very much possible, although some of the incidents were hard to fathom. We like to believe angels exist but when it comes to the dark spirit world we often like to gloss over just how active they can be.
Even with all this going on, God was at work in this young life, and even though not an easy road, you will be amazed at God's intricate working in situations, with people and even the embassy. God is a miracle working God! Don't believe me? Pick up this book and read it for yourself. This is one of those books you will pick up and not be able to put down...until it's done.
