Breach of Trust (Call of Duty Book 1) Kindle Edition
Paige Rogers is a former CIA agent who lost all she treasured seven years ago when her entire team was killed in a covert mission. She blames their leader—Daniel Keary—whom Paige believes betrayed them. Disillusioned and afraid for her life, she disappeared and started a new life as a small-town librarian. But when Keary announces his candidacy for governor of her state, he comes after Paige to ensure that she won’t ruin his bid for office. He threatens everything she holds dear, and Paige must choose between the life of hiding that has become her refuge . . . Or risking everything in one last, desperate attempt to right old wrongs.

Paige Rogers is the sweet librarian in the tiny town of Split Creek, Oklahoma. She bakes delectable treats for the Thursday Senior citizens book club and is a faithful member of the Baptist Church in town. But Paige has a secret. When she gets home, she always checks to make sure her mail is still piled in the exact, haphazard way that she placed it. She checks her kitchen curtain to make sure it hasn't blown to the side. She makes sure the pen she balanced on the corner of her desk hasn't fallen off. Paige is former CIA agent, Mikaela Olsson and for seven years she's been living a lie.
Miles Laird is the football coach for Split Creek High School and for most of that time he's been trying to gain Paige's attention. Everyone in town thinks would make a great couple but Paige's secrets are keeping her from letting Miles in until one day, a run-in with a supposed photographer causes her to finally turn to Miles.
Daniel Keary is the front-runner in the race for the governor's seat of Oklahoma. Former CIA himself, he appears to stand for everything his conservative constituents want to see. What no one sees is the evil that Keary is capable of. Paige was his former partner and she knows far too much. When she refuses to join his campaign, she places her life and the lives of those she loves in jeopardy. Can she expose Keary's plot before those around her pay the price?
If you love heart-pounding suspense, you NEED to read this book!!! I felt like I'd run a marathon when I finished it. Paige's strong faith shines through as she begins to question the methods she used as a CIA operative years ago. When the CIA asks her to come back in order to catch Keary at his own game, she wonders if she can be an operative AND a Christian. This book has a strong Christian thread but is not preachy about it. I highly recommend Breach of Trust!!
Now. I AM a believer, but even if I was not I can say I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is written as well as any commercial fiction - interesting plot, likable characters, a few really good (though not entirely shocking) twists. The pacing is a little on the slow side but the interesting and believable backstory, which took a fair bit of time to develop, more than makes up for it.
That being said, I do believe it was really elevated by the moral message and convictions of the characters - something that is missing in so much modern crime fiction. It was refreshing to see characters relying on more than their awesomeness to get them through struggles, and as a Christian I do fervently agree with the underlying message of the book. I wouldn't do it as a bible study, but for a few afternoons of solid reading "Breach of Trust" was well worth the time. Enjoyable, engaging, and with a better message than much of what is currently being written, I would highly recommend this book to any teen or young adult looking for suspense fiction that wasn't filled with trash.
The characters are great. They all seem to blend together nicely. Nice blend of romance and suspense .If you are a Dianne Mills fan the n you won't want to miss this newest "Call of Duty" series
