"My story is nothing but death and destruction.
There is no happily ever after for me, only pain until my final breath."
So I went in this series a little backwards and started with this book. Luckily it covers the events from book 1 and 1.5 through Nathan's POV.
Nathan Thorne is broken, angry and possibly messed up beyond repair. He suffers from anxiety and PTSD which fuels his insatiable sex drive. He wishes he would have stayed dead on that horrible day with his family.
He isn't looking for love nor does he want it but all it takes is one look. One look at a stranger on the street to awaken the beast within.
"Something inside me stirred as I stared at her. The beast inside me pulled at the chains that bound him. She called to him from across the sea of asphalt and cars. She called to me."
Delilah Palmer is his enigma. The same darkness is hiding in her. I haven't read Breach yet so her abuse isn't covered in a lot of detail but it runs deep she is just as broken if not more so than Nathan.
I'm drawn to broken characters and loved the internal dialogue throughout the story. Both characters are able to be their true selves without hiding behind any masks. They have the ability to heal one another. Their forbidden love is dark, rough and intense.
Now I desperately need to play catchup and read the first 3 books of the series.
"Lila was life and love and I wanted to be with her for the rest of days. Forever with my sex goddess, my Honeybear, my love."
My emotions were again in the blender as we went back to the beginning of Nathan & Delilah's story, having it this time in Nathan's POV.
In my mind, there is no such thing as too much Nathan Thorne, so my only complaint about this heart-stealing, gut-wrenchingly raw, thigh-clenching hot book is that I didn't want it to end.
Even when I was a sobbing mess, and trying to comfort myself with the knowledge of how their story ends, I still wanted more.
LOVE the Breach Series.
Nathan Thorne and Delilah Palmer are two tortured souls. They both seem damaged beyond repair, but somehow, someway, they find healing in each other. With Nathan’s past, the last thing he wants is to fall in love again. To have someone and lose them. He couldn't take it. He knows the risks, and he’ll do anything to protect those he cares about. Even if that means pushing them away. There is something about Lila, though. Something that makes it hard for him to keep his distance.
I loved watching Lila and Nathan’s relationship change and grow. I loved that the two of them could just be when they were together. It’s a bit of a push and pull between them. Nathan is protective and broken and handles things in his own way. Their romance is forbidden, it’s intense, it’s volatile, and it’s hot as hades! Seriously, when I say Nathan Thorne is the ultimate dirty talker, I mean it! Being in his head was something else entirely. It made me love him that much more (if that is even possible).
Breached is a completely captivating, seriously sexy, and passionate. If you’ve read the first two books in the Breach series, this is one you don’t want to miss out on this! If you haven’t read the original Breach, YOU NEED TO! This is an epic series! Go forth and meet my favorite damaged hero, Nathan Thorne and his Honeybear!
