more than worthwhile, I eventually got around to it. Imagine my surprise when I couldn't put it down but
toted it around with me, reading it at every spare moment until I finished it! How could "a theology
of communion bread" be compelling enough to cause that?
First off, you should already know a bit about the Great Schism between the Eastern and Western Church
before you pick up this book. If you do, then you'll be ready to join Father Sergei in his exploration of
one of the main issues of the schism: the use of leavened bread (in the East) or unleavened bread (in the West)
in the Holy Eucharist. A silly disagreement about local custom? You'll never think so again once you
read this. And step by step, he leads us through the breathtaking "theory of everything" -- including
cosmogony, Mariology, ecclesiology, and more. Highest recommend if you are ready to see the Bread
of Life as you've never seen before.
