I liked the book well enough. And I liked the fact that this was a stand alone. It's hard to find books that I genuinely like these days that aren't split into serials or that have HUGE cliffhangers. This book was a sweet read and a story of coming of age and acceptance.

Alex, as with all teens is going through a rebellious stage in her life and is sent to the ranch to live with her grandparents after she is caught selling drugs with her boyfriend.

SPOILERS

The story unfolds that while on the farm she falls for another guy, but tries to resist the attraction she feels by maintaining a long distance relationship with her boyfriend.

I actually liked her boyfriend. While I am not a fan of drugs myself, I don't think that he was a stone cold loser for this. The cheating on her however, was another thing. I probably would have torched his house down, but hey, thats just me.

But the development of his character DID have me wanting Alex to forgive him. When he died I was pretty sad for her. I wanted better for his character. Because at the end of the day, he DID love Alex and he WAS trying to better himself for her. So sad :(

Anyway. It was a good read. Nice time filler.

First of all, I'm a big fan of K.A. Robinson. She's such a talented author that no amount of words could possibly describe how amazing I believe she is. I'm a big fan of hers and I've never been disappointed by any of her books. However, I know that reviews need to be completely honest and unbiased, so I promise to be truthful-- cross my heart, and all that good stuff.

Second, I purchased Breaking Alexandria the day it released and I've found myself totally swamped with a busy schedule ever since. I only had time to read a couple pages a day, which was torture because I constantly thought about the book and wondered what was about to happen, although I knew I didn't have time to pick it up. I finally caught up on some stuff and had time to read the last couple days so finishing Breaking Alexandria was my treat.

*The beginning of Breaking Alexandria kept me on the edge of my seat. She was just blazing a painful trail of burned bridges everywhere she went. She fought with her mother. She fought girls over her boyfriend. She even fought herself half the time. Alexandria was just miserably unhappy and she didn't even know it! She was so blinded by her love for Joel that she couldn't see how she was hurting herself and everyone who cared about her. I did love Joel though. A girl's first love is indescribably powerful and Alexandria's was no different. She would do anything for him, and what I loved so much about Joel was that he was the classic example of every girl's dream... the bad-boy who had been tamed only for her. What girl doesn't dream about that wild guy who falls in love with her and only her, giving up all his old ways just to make her happy? It's a weird natural instinct and Joel was that for her.

This has to be the best book I have read lately. It most definitely is my favorite KA Robinson book of all.

I loved Alexandria. Although she made mistakes, and she was as young as she was, she was such a strong female character. Lately, I have been sick of all these female characters that just give in to the male, never standing up for themselves, so this was such a pleasant change! I wish I was as strong as her when I was that age!

And Landon….oooh. What girl doesn't want someone just like him. He is such a strong, hot male even though he is such a sweetheart.

I loved how Lexi's relationship with her family developed as well. Kudos to her parents for doing the right thing! Her grandparent's different ways of dealing with her showed depth.

KA, this book was fantastic and I hope everyone reads it!!

Alexandria is in high school and she is with her drug-dealing boyfriend Joel. She would do anything for him. After Alexandria's mom catches her dealing for Joel she sends her off to her grandparents farm in West Virginia. This is the last thing she wants to do.

At the farm she meets, Landon, one of the farm hands. She tries to ignore her attraction to him because there is still Joel.

Can Alexandria put her old lifestyle behind her? Can she find herself again when she isn't wrapped up in everything "Joel"? Can she let the sweet, charming farmhand into her heart?

That was something else. Talk about mixed up. When I was reading the book I was thinking yes this happens a lot. Young girl falls in love and becomes someone different, becomes the things that surrounds her and becomes rebellious. Now with that being said let's move into the men. Joel, well i didn't automatically fall for him and I'm not sure if it was because he was a drug dealer or because I just didn't find the spark but somewhere deep I knew he had to care for her. But maybe not enough since he was putting her in danger. A lot.
Now Logan he and Joel were totally different Logan is the one I feel for instantly. He was sweet, caring, respectful and it was so easy to see that he cares for her. He worried about her wanted to save her. But I wasn't prepared for the whirlwind about to take place. It angered me to say the least. I was confused and couldn't figure out her thinking. But then eventually I think I figured it out. Made it easier to comprehend but that didn't mean instill wasn't upset. But then she finally woke up and realized her errors and was bound and determined to make it right . That's when I wanted to give her a high five. About freaking time. So yes I was happy with the ending. I and enjoyed the book.
