The glass is thinner than a standard coffee mug but it's supposed to be beaker glass, which is thinner that that of a standard coffee mug so I've no qualms there either.
I'm reserving a star because I don't personally know how well the mug or design holds up to real time usage, but so far I'm not at all disappointing with my purchase.

So here it is almost 2 years later and the mug is doing just fine..It has even survived my husband who has a tendency to take the thing with him when he's working outside or in the garage..lol I feel that more than deserves the extra star I've added ;) There is a *slight* bit of wear on the outer left edge Heisenberg's glasses but all things considered I really can't complain. The trick to longevity with this item it seems is to make sure to hand wash it and not put it in the dishwasher which I would do with any externally decorated glass item anyhow.
It's for sure a glass beaker and it has the blue tint. Really neat. It has been taking boiling water into it for a week now and all is good. Very durable, but because it's a beaker, it feels flimsy and light. Only grab this thing by the handle, don't grab the glass body or you'll get burn.
Only issue I have is that the measuring gauge on the side is way of by around 200 ml. That is, when it tells you you've poured in 450ml, you've only put in around 200. 1 glass equals 240 ml in case anybody wants to know. I haven't measured it but I think this takes about 350 ml of liquid.
However it won't fit in with high quality mugs so just know this is a big more of a novelty gift than a functional coffee mug.
