About the Author

MK has always been a voracious reader. After hitting a dry spell of reading material, she decided to write the kind of book she'd like to read. This resulted in the creation of her debut novel, Intentional. (Award for Best Sweet Romance - eFestival of Words- August 2014) Unintentional, the second book in the series, is based on the life of one of the characters in Intentional. Unintentional was written as a stand-alone book. Breaking Braydon, another stand-alone book, is now available for pre-sale. Release date is January 24th, 2015 When she's not writing novels, she likes to spend her free time traveling the world, splashing in mud puddles (She lives in Seattle, what can she say?), watching movies and reading (!) MK also runs her own business in her current hometown of Mercer Island, Washington. She LOVES to hear from her readers! mkharkins@hotmail.com https://www.goodreads.com https://twitter.com/mk_harkins https://www.facebook.com/marilyn.wellnitz

A heartfelt love story about a billionaire and a scientist, who have major trust issues. Author glosses over the sex scenes, just gives a little hint as to what happened behind the bedroom door. A light and easy read with a few laughs.

Good story, and appreciated the author didn't go into every single detail regarding sex...as a matter of fact, sex was casually mentioned they partook and that was it. Congrats! An author dependant on a story vs thinking of every crass word to describe male vs female anatomy and every detail what they did!! Really enjoyed.

I think I read a different book because this was awful. I've read this author's other books and I don't know what's happened. The writing in this was juvenile at best and I felt like I was reading a high school romance drama. There were some editing problems ie grammar and 'your' instead of 'you're', which add to the general irritation.

+++Spoilers+++
Both characters were adults but had issues. The H was bullied and had a particularly nasty showdown in the cafeteria when he was 15. This lead him never to trust a beautiful woman ever again therefore he will only ever spend 6 hours maximum with a woman. The h was also treated badly at school and felt that she had to hide her exceptional beauty so as never to be taken advantage of again. The H is now a billionaire and raises funds for medical research companies. The h is a research scientist and a qualified doctor or so we're told. I personally felt that these two belonged back in high school.

The best thing I have to say about this book is that it's clean, which is a pleasant change.

When I started reading Breaking Braydon it became obvious fast that the alternate title for this story could be Jaded Jain. Braydon Decker was a big money man who liked to play with the ladies, but not get to close to any of them. He was an interesting character in that he had issues, for issues that were not apparent to the reader. Then we meet Jain Parker, a woman with issues that were obvious, she had an ax to grind against men. She went so far as to change her appearance just to play the role of "plain Jain" so men would leave her alone. It didn't seem to work though because she had two men fighting to be the one to take her out, her co-worker Erik who I found creepy like a snake and of course, Mr. Decker himself.

When Jain's funding for ALS research comes to a screeching halt she has to swallow her pride and take her best friend Collin's advice, do anything to get Braydon Decker to help them. As a highly acclaimed fundraiser headhunter Braydon knew his way around the socialite community and their pocketbooks. If he agreed to help their research company with a fundraiser they wouldn't need to worry about funding ever again.

Here's where it gets complicated. Braydon likes Jain and Jain likes Braydon, but they are both so jaded that it's a lesson in failure for both of them. Sure they loved each other, but could their bigger issues be sorted out in time to save whatever feelings they had for each other?

I read Breaking Braydon in two nights, so it's a super fast read that keeps your interest and makes you want to find out what happens.
All told Breaking Braydon is a well written and intriguing contemporary romance that will draw out a lot of emotions in you and personally I think that's what every writer aims to do. Ms.

I wanted to LOVE this book, it had so much potential. But the main characters are caricatures of adults. Jain is a smart (but wicked beautiful) scientist who hides her looks to be taken seriously. Well...you have the job, honey...you can come out of hiding now. Braydon is the playboy billionaire who never spends more than a few hours with his conquests before moving on to the next. But...one ten minute meeting with Jain and he's a changed man.

Yeah, right.

I don't even know where to begin with this review, so I'll say this. The book has no heat, the characters aren't developed at all and if they'd spent just a few minutes talking to one another, the obligatory break-up wouldn't have needed to happen. The antagonist was unnecessary and unremarkable. I can't recommend this book at all...it's definitely not worth the price of admission.

I love MK's Intentional Series and when she approached me to beta this story, I was beyond ecstatic. I feel that in this book she has definitely stepped up her game. This isn't your normal fall in love at first sight because the woman is hot and the guy is hotter. Well Braydon is attractive and so is Jain, but Jain throws a twist in this story. She plays down her looks, she realized early on they get her nowhere.

She is a scientist and scientists are never taken seriously when they have looks. She loves her research and knows that it's her life's work. When Jain's clinic is threatened to be shut down due to funding, she doesn't want to give it up.

Braydon, the hot bachelor that women would do anything to be with. He is your typical playboy who doesn't want to settle down, he just wants to play the field. Until he meets this plain woman with her coworkers who approached his company to help put a fundraiser together. He's intrigued and for the first time he wants to pursue a woman, maybe even settle down, but Jain has other plans. She doesn't like him.

I won't give away what else happens but I love the dynamic between Jain and Braydon. Definitely worth picking up! Another fantastic book Ms. Harkins!
