MJ Summers currently resides in Canada, not far from theRocky Mountains, with her wonderful husband, three young children and theirgoofy dog. When she's not writing romance novels, she loves reading (obviously),snuggling up on the couch with her family for movie night (which would not becomplete without lots of popcorn and milkshakes), hiking, and yoga (tomake up for the milkshakes), swimming and camping (with lots of gooey s'moresand hard ciders). She also loves shutting down restaurants once a month withher girlfriends. Well, not literally shutting them down, like calling thehealth inspector or something. More like just staying until they shut thelights off.
MJ would love to hear from you! You can reach her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For over twenty years Harper held a flame for the boy next door. Evan-from-Heaven Donovan. She spent her teenage years pining for the boy who never really saw her. Then as she got older and life happened she found herself following a great path in the fashion industry; allowing her dreams to become a reality. Her career took her all over the world and far from home, never allowing her the opportunity to delve back in to her childhood memories. Harper was ecstatic about her career knowing she was working her way to the top. The long hours though, left little time for her to return home. That is until the day she received thee call about her dad's accident, a day that would change her life forever, the day she would put her career on hold to go home to her family.
Evan grew up living next door to his best friend ,Wes, and Wes' fiesty little sister, Harper. He went on to become a contractor and made a good life for himself, but as we all know things happen. For Evan it was the recession and ultimately a divorce, which left him in a rough place. He had to find a way to stay strong and recover. Thankfully he was able to turn it all around and land a big contract. He was happy living in the house he bought from his parents, his childhood home. And when that beautiful woman moved in beside him he was shocked to realize that little Harper had become so drop dead gorgeous.
Evan and Harper quickly found themselves lusting for one another. They knew they shouldn't but two consenting adults would be able to have a casual relationship without terrifying feelings getting in the way, couldn't they? That is the question of the day. After old memories resurface and new ones are made, will Harper and Evan be able to remain casual or will they end up doing exactly what they never wanted to do?
Well Ms. Summers you did it again. I have read all of this series and they just get better as you go along. We meet the adult Evan and Harper 20 years later after we witness Harper's high school crush on the boy next door(Evan from Heaven) her words. Due to a work accident which brings Harper home which since she left for NYC has never been home for any length of time she is now taking care of her father. She then finds out that her crush lives next door in his childhood home. So all of those feelings start to come back for Harper when she sees Evan after all of these years. He also can't miss the grown up version of the little girl that use to live next door, thank God for puberty! She is smoking hot in his eyes and that arse is not what he remembers.... So we begin the journey of these two who have realize they have feelings for each other but due to pass hurts their hearts have been closed off and it makes it really hard for them to really reach each other like they should, so the up and down of love soon begins and feelings get hurt. We laugh, cry a little and make our way through the angst. Enjoy..
I received a copy of Breaking Clear from the author in exchange for an honest review. Having said that I had already purchased the book last June, read and loved it. And read it again. I honestly loved this book and even better the second time around. Harper is such a character and Evan "from Heaven" is one heck a of guy. MJ writes and pulls you right into their story, you find yourself invested in the characters and their lives. I loved peeking in on Megan and Luc from the previous book as well. The ending was perfect, some books just end flat. Not so with this one. I loved the whole series. Start with book one, but just read them... pick one, you won't be disappointed. MJ you rocked it once again!
I received a copy from the author in return for a honest review but I had already purchased it to read before I got the copy from her. I absolutely love this series and I think so far Evan is my favorite. Although his is jaded by hid failed marriage, the author makes you feel how good of a man, person he is and you can't help but hope he will let his walls down. Of course if you rad alot of these type of books, you know things never go smoothly but most times the characters come to their senses in the end. I don't mind that "predictability" as long as I am being entertained and "feeling" something through the journey. I can't wait to read Book 4 and to see what Ms. Summers has for us down the road!
“I received a copy from the Author in return for an honest review"....like the other books in the series I absolutely love this book. I truly enjoy getting to know the characters. MJ has an amazing way of making you feel like they are real people that you actually know. I enjoy the humor in the books. When Harper was trying to climb the fence in the robe I literally busted out laughing! A definite must read for anyone who wants a lil drama, laughs and romance! After I read this book I even sent an email to see if there was going to be another book to follow. I love how you get to see how the characters lives play out in the next books!
I could not get into this one. I have liked the others in this series but for some reason this one just dragged along for me. The issues just didn't hold my interest and the whole "let's just have fun" thing is just getting so old. Are there any books out there anymore that don't have this same anti-relationship theme? I thought this one started out really cute and I had high hopes but things just kind of dwindled away quickly. If you have not read some of the others in this series still give those a try though because there are some really great ones, this one just didn't work for me.
I was asked to read this book as a reviewer..... However , in saying that, I would have read this book without prompting! This is the continuation of the series Full Hearts where the reader is introduced to the main characters in a previous story. However, Ms. Summer's explores the story of Harper and Evan and the challenges that they encounter both individually and as a couple. Sweet and steamy, easy to get absorbed into and a very satisfying conclusion. No doubt this just reinforces why the author has a dedicated group of readers!
