Breaking Her was definitely a heart wrenching read. Without saying much we learn a lot about Scarlett's past, which I think helps us understand why she is the person she is today. Her story was so much more than I ever expected. Again I can't say much because of all the spoilers in the story.
I wasn't sure it could happen but this book made me fall in love with Dante. "I have many demons. But only one angel." This quote screams Dante!
"Love doesn't make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile." ~Franklin P. Jones Love the quotes throughout the book.
" It is a near draw , the love and the hate , but it could tip either way. "
" But love changes you. No matter how strong are , it makes you stronger. No matter how weak you are , it makes you weaker. No matter how hard you are to conquer , it will bring you to your knees."
This emotionally charged read had me laughing , crying , angry , and jumping out of my seat with joy all in one read ! I've been anticipating " Breaking Her " since I finished " Breaking Him " and it exceeded my expectations and then some ! Dante and Scarlett's love is passionate , aggressive , loyal and something that has you sitting on the edge of your seat and rooting for them the whole time . This author has stolen my heart and I don't even want it back !
All around 10 million star's !
And let me say that the wait was worth it too. I have no words to describe everything that makes me feel: anguish, sadness, and uncertainty. So terrible with all the injustice of the situation and a literary hangover that I will can’t get over easily. The moments between Scarlett and Dante too explosive, passionate, with a chemical that makes you feel with them in all their emotions.
I really commend this author because she always knows how to make us feel the emotions of her characters.
Dante, OMG!!! He became one of my literary husbands, his dedication and complete devotion to Scar has no equal, and his emotional crises will make you suffer too.
Scarlett my poor girl who has every reason to distrust and her way of being, you will suffer with all the situations that she faced.
Bastian!!! As always in RK books, super-important secondary characters and I'm hoping his book.
The twists of this history that I never expect that happened, it had me hooked until the end. Adelaide I thought that could not really hate her more, but I was wrong.
The only thing I missed was a long and elaborate epilogue, but I hope RK surprise us with something more of this beautiful story.
If you like suffered but intense love, you cannot miss this conclusion of Dante and Scar.
I loved the format of alternating past and present. The story unraveled just perfectly.
If you enjoyed the first book Breaking Him, you will find that Breaking Her is a very satisfying conclusion.
I'd love a novella or spinoff or alternative point of view or something about Bastian, he's got me totally intrigued. And Anton and Demi - oh boy - them too.
Mostly Scarlett's POV
When I read Breaking Him, I had no clue the cliffhanger was going to affect me as much as it did. I was emotionally involved with the book and upset there was not a conclusion. I've finally read the last book and couldn't be happier.
First off, I loved the names used in the books - Scarlett, Dante, Anton, Eugene, Mercy, Adelaide, Bastion, and my favorite, Leo. I think all books should use kicka.. names.
¡¡¡¡Spoilers after this!!!!
I was happy about the friendship between the brothers. Having siblings makes life better.
I was happy about Adelaide's demise. I wish it could have been worse for her.
Mercy was a surprising twist, a pleasantly happy one. It also made her friendship with Gina make more sense.
I'm glad Glenda stepped up at the end but I don't think it was enough. She was forgiven too easily for me. I do like that she at least tried.
I'm glad we got to hear Leo's story. It made sense why Adelaide hated Scarlett so much. I wish he would have looked out for her better. I think he should not have been such a coward.
I wasn't shocked that Renee died but thankful about knowing her tragic story. Where is her body?
Why wasn't Jethro thrown in jail or at least had his comeuppance? The jerk.
I'm sad for Bastion. He doesn't deserve to be miserable because he's in love with Scarlett. He never pursued her because of his brother. He seemed to be solid as to who he is and one of the better people in this book.
I wanted Tiffany and Farrah to go down in flames. They didn't. Tiffany got what she wanted. It's horrible that she won in any capacity.
I would like to read about happy endings for Scarlett's roommates and Anton.
I enjoyed this so much I didn't want the story to end. I want to know more about Scarlett and Dante's happy ending - like into the future a few years. I'm glad we at least got an epilogue with the wedding in it.
