Welcome to the world of Dr. Alex Knight. Dr. Knight is a charmingly brilliant self-absorbed scientist with the NIH. After getting caught illegally researching stem cells, Dr. Knight is manipulated into creating a report on vaccines. Alex learns that there is a plot regarding vaccines. And, there are people willing to go to any means to keep this secret. Suddenly dead bodies begin to turn up and Dr. Knight finds himself right smack in the middle of a dangerous conspiracy.
C.G. Cooper has proven he is an extraordinary writer in diverse genres. Mr. Cooper, along with Ronan Powers, has written a fabulous novel. Breakout is intense and profound. It keeps the reader’s imagination soaring as the mystery unfolds with a deliberate calculated effect. Although the idea of using vaccines for evil purposes is a bit disquieting, I found the storyline fascinating. Breakout is an exceptional novel and I enjoyed every reading moment. I highly recommend Breakout!
Dr. Alex Knight is uncovering the truth behind vaccines which are a grave concern to me and how they are mandatory by our current gov't.
Why are they mandatory? Is there a hidden objective? This story is very hard to put down and .....sleep?
I have read most of C.G. Cooper books and this one does not disappoint the avid or casual reader.
Ending promises more to come!
Alex Knight taken in by the FBI for illegal stem cell research and finds himself in the midst of some international and CIA super conspiracy. With seemingly no training in spying, hand-to-hand combat, or weapons he is able to flee at a moments notice with little or no access to his finances (except the money and credit cards in his pocket) and fly to Europe, rent cars, stay in hotels, display amazing driving skills, defeat armed assailants, and return to the States to try and defeat the conspiracy. Once home he teams back up with the FBI agent that has been dogging him and during his conflict with the bad guys picks up weapon(s) that he has had no experience with and becomes somewhat expert in their use. All of this is after he was able to scale the exterior wall of his apartment building when pursue by the villains, sneak in through the window of a neighbors apartment, get unnoticed into their bedroom to steal clothes, and make his escape (again by scaling the outside of the building).
For pure escapism it may be worth the read but it is too much of a challenge to my intellect to continue with future books to find out how this cliff hanger ends. (And I really don't have that much of an intellect.) For me though by the time I finished I was wondering what in the world I had just read and why oh why did I even bother.

He rivals my favorite writers for character development, plot development, and freshness of ideas.
Now, with Ronan Powers, Cooper has improved by an order of magnitude!
Maybe I used that term incorrectly but you can be sure Cooper and Powers wouldn't make such a silly mistake.
They have built a strong foundation upon which this series will grow. Just not fast enough...
If you like Reacher, you'll Love this book, and its promise of more to come.
