Without going into too much detail so as not to ruin the reading experience for anyone, I will tell you that this book will change the way you think about what you have, what you want and how to go about making the best of what you have and getting what you want. I realize that may sound cryptic, but everyone's story is different and that is why this book works better than any other book of this type out there, it adapts itself to your own personal story. I say, stop reading the reviews, get this book and start changing your life today!
This book really makes you stop and think about your "bad" days, and question just how bad they actually were. It shows the reader how to transform a bad situation into a good one, simply by changing the way you look at it.
My favorite sentence fragment throughout this book was, "... and appreciation is at the very heart of personal success and breakthroughs in life." This is something I've tried to instill in both of my teens. True appreciation for life and the things we have (as opposed to yearning for the things we don't have) is the real key to happiness.
I recommend this book for anyone looking for a way to create inner peace or simply be inspired or motivated.
I'm giving 3 stars as I did not like the emphasis in a couple of chapters on "embracing struggle" Yes, we all have hardships and hurdles to face along the way and yes, they can make us stronger and better people, in the long run. But I don't want to embrace the concept of struggle or dwell on it, I think that's very negative and counterproductive.
I wouldn't call this book a "breakthrough" but it does have some good suggestions and reminders, if you are in need of some (for the most part) uplifting reading.
This book is an excellent way to start a positive change in one's life. The author does an excellent job motivating as well making it easy to start things you can do today to improve your happiness level. One thing I liked is that it summarized each chapter into action steps at the end of chapter so you can better remember how to start changing your mindset about certain things in your life.
Amazing and inspirational!
This is a must read book for anyone who has lingered from the path that was headed toward where they wanted to be in life. This books give clear examples of ways to get motivated, define a schedule for milestones towards your goal, and even to revive that passion that you once had for whatever goal you had planned to accomplish.
