The story was wonderfully written, making laugh and cry. The characters were amazingly well thought out. The most intriguing thing though was the fact that it did not follow the normal boy meets girl like a typical romance. A typical romance you know exactly what would happen pretty much as soon as the girl and guy meet. Not in this story, which I have to say was very refreshing.
Aja, (which by the way is a name I absolutely love) is our heroine, she is recovering from a horribly abuse situation. This situation is not only frightening it is humiliating. She has the typical over protective Italian family that I fell in love with.
We have two very eligible hot men that want her, and she is attracted to both of them. The only problem is that she is scared because of her issues with the ex-boyfriend. I found myself laughing, crying, angry and happy in this book. I give it 5 out of 5 stars and would recommend it to everyone that likes a good love story that does not follow the typical recipe most romances follow. I look forward to more novels by this author.
Her daddy and brothers want to take care of the Ex themselves, but Aja wants to deal with things on her own. She leaves her home and heads to Italy to get away from for awhile and away from Steve (the Ex) But while there she falls for another man and then Steve shows up to "Take Care of Her".
I really liked this story and thought the word flow was great and characters were strong and easy to relate with.
I enjoyed Brenda Grate's other books and wanted to like this one also, but so many far-fetched things happen that the book is unbelievable.
Aja breaks up with Stephen and flies off to Italy after nearly being choked to death by him and almost cutting off his most sensitive part (only damaged). Strangely enough, even though she has only told her parents and best friend where she is, of all the places in the world, Stephen turns up in the small part of Italy she is staying in and he's looking for her.
Suddenly Aja has 2 love interests, 1 of whose sister owns a restaurant and practically adopts Aja and the other a rich winery owner. Aja's best friend suddenly flies over because she's just found out her fiancee is gay and lo and behold, she falls in love with the man Aja doesn't want. THEN if that's not enough, one of Aja's overprotective brothers turns up and falls in love with the restaurant owner.
Somehow - I can't tell all the spoilers but had to share some so you see how bizarre this story is - they all end up back in Canada, yes ALL of them, even the 3 people that are life long Italian residents. Too far fetched to even enter the realm of possible.

The book started slow and I felt like the character was an immature 16 year old from the way she acted, which all made sense towards the end showing her growth as a woman. Read morePublished 19 days ago by Jenna
I loved this novel of how Aja rebuilt her life. I look forward to reading other books by this author.Published 6 months ago by SavingsQueen
I knew this would be a light read but oh no. It was far worse than that. The plot was thin, the characters were shallow and the author used every cliche in the proverbial book. Read morePublished 14 months ago by Joanne crump

It is a simple, light-hearted book. Some funny scenes. It is a quick, easy read with no depth.Published 18 months ago by Marie Settlewood
This book started out really well then just flopped. It had a great start and I thought Aja's character would really grow but instead she runs away. Read morePublished 22 months ago by Deanna Martinez
I liked this one. At times it was hard to read only because I saw a bit of myself within the pages. Ms. Read morePublished 23 months ago by Amy Browne
I found this book to be very comical. It was a fun read, however I expected more from the ending. I almost feel like it should have a 2nd book.Published 23 months ago by Amazon Customer
