I followed the sizing guidelines and the trousers I got are just fine when used standalone - I wouldn't try riding with a pair of jeans under these, or maybe a thin one. I sometimes wore shorts under - perfect.
Not a problem for me anyway: I live under the tropics and cold is not a problem - The trousers feature a kilted liner that seems just fine but that I never used while riding. I tried it on the first day and then removed it.
Once the lining removed, the trousers are perfect for me - a little hot when in the sun but comfortable. Just one note: it is waterproof in both directions (no gore-tex) so you tend to sweat a lot in these when it's hot. The outer waterproof fabric is lined internally with some sort of acrylic mesh that avoids your skin sticking to the fabric and provides for the pockets that hold the CE padding.
This padding is slightly small and you may have to move it around to locate it properly but once in place it tends to stay there. Never been a problem while riding.
The side pockets are average and properly placed when standing but you don't want to put anything in there when riding.
There are two vents on the thighs which I contend are almost 90 degrees with the orientation you'd want them to be really efficient. Not a problem so far, though.
The pants don't reach very low, so when riding you better wear high boots than low boots or hiking shoes. A larger pants size would address that but then the safety padding would be more loosely located and that much less efficient in case of crash.
The trousers feature the standard 8" zipper at the back to couple it with a riding jacket, however on the trousers the zipper came mounted upside down, with the slider attached to the trousers - Normally the slider is attached to the jacket, as it is on mine, so it's time for needle and thread.
All in all a good purchase, although I would consider one size bigger to wear over trousers.

I got this waterproof pants for rainy days and winter season,
We have a lot of rain in where we live, so I always wanted to get a waterproof jacket and a pair of pants.
However, I hesitated to buy one for the overprice anywhere.
Thus, when I found this pair of waterproof pants for such an affordable price (along with a matching waterproof jacket I got,) I was really happy and had to get this.
I like that the pants are breathable and adjustable in size.
After I ordered this in small size, I was a little worried that it could be too small for me.
However, it was such a relief to see that it stretches on your waist.
I love this a lot.

Okay for the price, but don't expect greatness.

Not actually breathable at all, and no mesh lining as in the description. Liner is instead a plastic waterproof membrane that became clammy within 45 seconds of wear. There are mesh vents in the legs that might help with ventilation at high speeds. Outer "Polyester Cordura" fabric feels thin but fairly tough. Pants are certainly not wide enough to don and doff with boots on, even with the ankle zippers. Armor pads appear to be of low quality. The knee pads are stamped "CE" but do not look or feel like my other CE-rated armor -- with stuff coming out of China, who knows? The hip/thigh pads are just very roughly cut, thin, black foam rubber.

All in all, probably better than jeans in the event of a crash, and will certainly keep you dryer in the rain... but you might get just as wet sweating. In cold climates these are probably great paired with longjohns, but here in Hawaii they are way too hot.

These pants are 100% polyester and the water just beads right off! I am very happy with the way they fit and feel. The inside liner keeps the poly away from my skin and they feel just like regular slacks or jeans. Another nice feature of the pants is the side zippers which are on the sides of the bottom of each leg. These help expand to get them over riding boots if you're wearing them. The waistband is made from strong elastic which grips your waist very effectively so no belt is required. There is a pocket on the left side with a cover flap to keep things inside dry. I recommend these for riding your bike in the rainy weather to keep you warm and dry. I ordered the XL size and I have a 32 inch inseam and a 40 inch waist so they fit very well and the waist is snug.

Really nice waterproof pants. I was looking for a while for waterproof pants for use in rain and snow. These fit pretty true to size and fit nicely. I wouldn't wear these on a daily basis and it does get sweaty after wearing them for a while. I tried these out in a rain storm and it held up great. it kelp my lets nice and dry and it helps if you wear a boot kind of shoe with them.

I haven't tried them out in the snow yet but I am excited to see how when they hold up in the cold and wet snow.

I recommend these to anyone who wants waterproof pants but I wouldn't consider them, biker pants

Great pants for the price, very warm with the liner as tested by spending 2 hrs outside clearing snow of my driveway (which also helped me verify how well the waterproofing worked). Husband is 6'5'' 200 lbs, so tall but not fat, it is hard for him to find pants that have long legs but not a huge 40+ waist, I have ordered a much more expensive option and when they arrived the sizing was way off, the length was fine but the waist was too small to close the zipper. I returned them and order these, they fit him perfect and he can even adjust the waist to wear them over jeans if he wanted to, not needed even in the coldest weather because they are very warm.
the armor seems to be in the correct places and it is not uncomfortable, like others said, when riding they do tend to go above your ankles, but that should be easily solved by adding a velcro strap to go under the boot heel. overall a very decent choice which works just as well as the much more expensive ones.
