Ok now I know this will work for clothes etc because I am going to describe my first use of the thing, and you will think I am nutz.
Sick cat, basically permanent colitis and has these flare ups which require her to be crated (it's a big crate with room for a bed and a cat box etc so keep the OMG down guys I freaking love my cat) and she generally has at least one accident per day or more on the blankets, which are fleece. The upside is I don't find myself in midair in my bathroom with cat diarrhea on my foot just before slamming back first into the stuff. Oh and it's not EVERYWHERE ELSE.
So I have cut up fleece blankets, they get a wipe and a fold and after a few days that's it they have stuff all over them including stuck on litter etc so they go in the bag and a new one goes in.
After a while I have a bunch of dirty blankets. SO I tried this tool on THEM. Two were full sized "throw" blankets, the rest have been cut in half. Now we are talking disgusting nasty gunk here folks. IN a 5 gallon bucket, I cleaned these things, changing the water each time. Then rinse. These blankets came out CLEAN and I mean like I would sleep on the things. Impressed.
So if you want to clean some socks and shirts etc, go for it. This is solidly built. You will need a handle, I just used a push broom handle so I can stand up and do it in a container on the floor in the tub.
