AN INVITATION TO BREATHE
Catastrophe or no catastrophe, if you are unhinged, disoriented, suffocating, or otherwise generally dragging, I'm inviting you to pull up a chair at this table . . .
Breathing Room is a beautiful release of self-condemnation, a discovery of the rest that comes when we offer ourselves some space to breathe. Vulnerable and winsome, Leeana Tankersley shows you how to stop beating yourself up, how to be radically on your own team, and how to truly experience grace. If you've been putting on a strong front and yet are secretly coming apart, you'll find in these pages a trusted friend.
"Leeana says out loud the things we all feel, and she says it with grace and eloquence. Reading these pages is like sitting with a friend."--Shauna Niequist, author of Bread & Wine
"Leeana refuses to reach for easy answers, instead leading the reader on a journey of accepting our own humanity. Quite simply, this is one of the most thoughtful books I've read all year."--Emily P. Freeman, author of A Million Little Ways

I saw a few reviews where folks wanted more religious and scriptural references. You know, there's so much of that already out there - it has been done. What Leeana does is even more beautiful and what I consider a more holistic approach to shedding light on a story.
Her lovely writing style does share scripture - but also imparts many other types of spiritual gems and cultural insights that contributed to sustaining her beautiful soul.
Leeana's book was such a blessed, needed and appreciated surprise ... a salve to my aching heart. She's so open and direct - and REAL. Like a true blue, life long friend.
She somehow invites you on her walk, let's you into her heartaches... and then somehow becomes very dear and joins you on your own walk. When I finished the book, I felt like I had this new friend - this person who understands where I am and where I've been and who showed me the light at the end of the tunnel. (And I don't even have a kids - which is sorta central to her journey.) I just wish she lived down the street so we could link up for tea, so I could join her for some found art sessions and to talk further on a few areas - like to to get unstuck faster.
Thank you Leeana, so much. I'll be watching for you to come to the Midwest .. and would be honored to meet you! I look forward to your next book! When??
