I was gifted this book from the Author for an honest review.
I gave this book 5 stars.
This is book 1.5 in the Breathe series.

This is in Tate's POV.

Just as Savannah and Tate begin to think that maybe they can make things work, jealousy gets in the way on both of their parts. They both make decisions that will effect their relationship and they both have to figure out if fighting for this is what they want or do they just want to walk away?

Rachel does it again. She left me wanting more. I love that this was in Tate's POV and we got a glimpse to who he is and his feelings. He is a great guy with a bigger heart. And he is so swoon worthy! I cannot wait until book two comes out and we get to spend more time with this couple and hope that they can finally get it right and have their HEA! Thank you Rachel for a great book !!

I love this book it was brilliant! I love the relationship between Tate and Savannah. The reason I only gave the book 4 stars is I just felt like there was a bit too much sex in it like 90% was them having sex, don't get me wrong it was heated and well written and some people love that but me personally I would have liked more about their lives and relationship from different prospectives. I loved the book and can't wait for the next one that cliff hanger has caught me off guard and to be honest I'm really annoyed with Sav for believing the evil bitch.

“I was completely breathless at the sight of her.”

I just want to start off by saying that I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE male POVs!! So, I was beyond excited when I found out Breathless was going to be narrated from TATE’S point of view! Squeee!!! And boy oh boy, I was NOT disappointed. In fact, Rachel Brookes managed to make me fall even more in love with him! I, once again, fell victim to the #TateConnorsEffect.

“If it was the last thing I did on this planet I would make sure Savannah knew I was hers and hers only.”

This novella picked up the storyline right where Just Breathe left off. If you haven’t read book one, I suggest you stop reading this review and hop to it. It’s truly AMAZING and you have to read it before this one.

Rachel Brookes kicked things off with quite a devastated Tate. He was trying to get through his days while missing his newly pregnant girlfriend. Sav, had left for NY where she would spend the next month working. The time difference between LA and NY and their busy work schedules made it nearly impossible for Tate and Sav to be able to communicate properly. They barely even texted…and that did NOT sit well with Tate. So being the wonderful boyfriend that he is, he hoped on a plane and surprised Sav in NY.

“I never knew a love like this could exist.”

You would think things would go smoothly for them. But no. Even though they had a lot going for them, they had a lot against them, too. Their insecurities and doubts still had power over them. Tate, especially, was scared shitless at the thought of being the type of father his dad was or rather, wasn’t. He simply couldn’t bear to do that to Sav or their baby.

Our novella starts where book #1 leaves off. Tate is watching the taxi taking Savannah away to the airport. All he can think is that he will not be able to survive the month Savannah will be spending working in New York.

Tate tells us his point of view throughout this part of the story. He is so insecure as to his ability to love and hold on to anyone. He is haunted by thoughts that anyone he loves leaves... just like his father left, Candice dies, Sarah cheated and left him... will Savannah leave him? He tells us his life is a waiting game... waiting for those he loves to leave him.

Unable to withstand the separation and missed connections with Savannah with this long distance ordeal, Tate decides to follow Savannah to New York. This story evolves then with all the complications and obstacles that continue to plague our couple.

Tate is still a very complicated and tortured character. He will have to find a way to heal himself before our story can find its happily ever after. I must admit, at times while reading this story, I have cried out to Tate to grow up and deal with it already. I know he is young and traumatized, but please for the love of all, deal with it! Sorry, sometimes I get so hooked into the story that I get passionate and forget these characters are a work of fiction. My parting thought is ... I CANNOT WAIT for the next book Breathe Again due out in 2014!

We begin this book with Tate watching as the cab pulls away from the curb taking Sav with it. As he goes into the expected month with her in New York, he has the time now to think about how his life is going to change.

This is a shorter book in the series that focuses on Tate's POV about missing Sav while she is gone, becoming a father and about the childhood skeletons that still linger, making him the man he was before Sav entered his world.

While the passion is still hot between the two, they also have the same issues as before. Jealousy rears it's ugly head once again. Old enemies show up for lunch, Tate has to learn how to handle his anger once again. Going for his old ways of dealing with such things just don't work any more.

The author gives you a book that lets you get to know what makes Tate who he is. If you didn't already like him, you are bound to love him once you finish this because he still has that charm and sex appeal that drew you in with the first book.

I would recommend you read book one first, just so you can get the complete picture of this dynamic couple.
