But I'm so glad I read it! Clark is a sweetheart in "disguise" and Aubrey is a fighter! I really enjoyed their story and think u will too!!! Although some sensitive subjects r showcased here, it's a really great story! Enjoy!!!
I am not sure what I had in mind to be honest. I had this story in my head.. and the farther I read the farther from that plot the story got. Honestly it is nothing that I expected and yet so much more. I found myself in pure awe, not having a clue exactly where Bordeaux was going with the story. Then, as it all feel together peace by piece I realized it is the perfect tale for two very broken people who find the person who mends their wounds and causes their hearts to swell.
In this story you meet two people who have very troubled upbringings. He had some mommy issues that caused him to never trust women. Instead he chose to use them and then leave them to keep his heart safe and to never risk feeling the heart ache that his father did. She has a dark secret that she feels that she can't tell anyone. It haunts her day and night. She's already unstable when the thin wall that was holding her together begins to crumble and she finds herself on a one way road to what seems to be her unavoidable demise. Forced to live together since there best friends fall in love.. they find that they can't fight the chemistry between them. With out realizing it, he quickly steps up to be her saving grace. Yes, he saved her life, but can he save her heart?? Even so, will he ever let her into his??
I love the personalities of not only the main characters but also all their friends. The interaction seems as thought it could be real. I love that even though the male is cocky, he is deeper then that, and that even though the woman is troubled she is still stronger then she would ever believe. I also love that so many very sensitive matters that we all to often try to ignore where touched on. Although the characters may have made joke to lighten the mood, the matters were never taken lightly. I love that they were made to make hard decisions that we all pray that we will never have to face and that in the long run they all came together to help build each other up.
I can't say enough good about this very dark, very action packed and yet very sweet and heart touch tale of true love! Order your copy today!!

Aubrey and Clark become room-mates when their original room-mates fall in love and get pregnant. They both seem to have a difficult life and so they act out in a similar way. Clark is 'dating' Tina who is also dating Hank and messes things up between herself and Clark.
Aubrey is hiding a secret and is set to marry Gregory who's looking at this like a business transaction. Things go awry and Aubrey goes off into the deep end.
*Spoilers / trigger warning*
At the age of 16 Aubrey is raped by her uncle. Her mother doesn't believe her and it causes a lot of issues for Aubrey. When Aubrey finds out that he's died she just can't cope and eventually tries to commit suicide. Clark saves her and their relationship changes from there.
I like how it was done and the author was very thoughtful about how to express the issues.
All 3 books in this series are a must read!
