This ozone generator won't kill any mold.
This ozone unit won't kill any mold.It will just give you a sore throat.Technical data on testing:The Berry Breeze (originally the Ozonator $50) generates ozone through a high voltage corona discharge. I measured the voltage at just over 4000 volts. It puts out a peak 0.8 ppm ozone in the first 48 to 52 minutes; solid green LED.It then goes into stand by for 195 minutes; blinking green LED.Then it runs for 8 minutes. Thereafter in 203 minutes it generates ozone for 8 minutes or 8/203 (4% of the time). This is why the 50 hour batteries can last for months. The 1/2 life of ozone at 0 degrees C (32 F) is only 300 seconds. The total time to decay back to stable O2 oxygen is 15 minutes. In a standard 21 cubic refrigerator (.61 cubic meters) that 8 minute run time generates only 0.4 ppm, for a few minutes. This is not enough ozone concentration to kill anything. Therefore the statement: "Because Berry Breeze slowly release O3 into your refirgerator, food decompostition comes to a grinding hault - preventing them from molding and rotting. "Is FALSE. Did you notice the 3 typos? To kill bacteria you need .25 to 2.29 ppm for 20 minutes. To kill viruses you need .2 to 4.1 ppm for 30 minutes. To kill mold you need 3.0 to 5.0 ppm for 60 minutes. To kill fungi you need .02 to .26 ppm for 1.67 minutes. So I put the unit into the crisper drawer: this works much better. The peak ozone was 2.5 ppm and decayed to 0 in 4 minutes, enough to kill fungi, but nothing else. Then I put the unit into a 5 gallon bucket (21 liter) and sealed the lid. This produced 19.7 ppm. The decay time was 100 minutes, because it was airtight. The only way to kill everything is to put the unit in a small airtight container, like the Rubbermaid Commercial Products, Plastic Space Saving Square Food Storage Container for Kitchen/Sous Vide/Food Prep, 12 Quart, ClearOzone density is 2.14 kg/m^3 or 2.14 g/l or .00214 mg/l = 1 ppm.The unit generated a total .885 mg of ozone in the 48 minute runtime, which calculates to 1.138 mg/hour.This is 4.5% of the published 25 mg/hour for the "Ozonator" identical unit.I also tested the dissolved ozone in water in the refrigerator using 0 to .5 ppm test strips: after the full 52 minute runtime, in the refrigerator crisper drawer, it measured 0 ppm in an open glass of water.I noticed that during all testing I had an irritating sore throat that lasted for hours. All testing done in a sealed refrigerator or sealed bucket. It only takes a brief inhalation when snapping the cover on to start the ozone to cause a sore throat.Ozone senor used: ME2-O3 (0-100) 21K19D-0136

This product is amazing. I have one of the GE Profile Refrigerators that constantly has moisture inside. Design issue that GE will not fix. Things wilt in two days and there is always a smell. In fact there will be mold on the walls due to refrigerator design. Many folks have the problem, just look it up. Anyway prior to purchasing a new refrigerator I decided to try this product. It is amazing, things stay fresh for weeks, no more moisture or mold on the walls. Always a fresh smell inside. I will never have a refrigerator without one. After talking to a refrigerator repair person they told me it is the energy efficient design and it is a poor design which will cause the problem if the refrigerator has more than a few items in it.

Everyone should have one of these. I kept a cut watermelon from the 4th of July until the 17th and it was still fresh. Only cling wrap on the top. I couldn't believe it but the wartermellon was still great. Love it

This is one of a few ozone generators we purchased to protect against coronavirus.

This one (for the fridge) was primarily to protect against infectious disease that might be attached to fresh foods that we can't exactly wash with bleach or sanitizing wipes.

The fact that everything that is fungible and exposed to air in the fridge started to last FOREVER after installing this device was an unintended result, but it does do exactly what it claims to.

We've had grapes that usually last a week, two at the most, last perfectly well without mold or discoloration for more than a month in the fridge with this running. Ginger, celery, tomatoes - same thing.

This works so well it almost makes you wonder, but the food tastes just as if it were fresh (although maybe just a touch dry-ish on the surface from being exposed in the fridge for the better part of a month).

CAVEAT: This thing takes 4 D cells to work, and don't even think about trying to run it on anything less than alkaline batteries because if you do, you'll be replacing batteries every few days. Alkalines last a lot longer (like around a month) so that's the (only) way to go with this device.

This thing does exactly what it says. You'll notice very little odor, and it really, really, lengthens produce shelf life.

This technology is already used in industrial environments, and has been 'known' since the 1800s, so, it isn't really new, and it is well understood and works quite well.

Trust me - you'll be surprised. You'll have carrots dry out in your fridge long before they ever mold or rot.

I bought this product to further maintain the freshness of the items in my fridge. It runs on 4 D cells which last upwards of 3 months. Once activated it produces ozone in the fridge to reduce overall spoilage of produce and other items like cheese. It takes up a small footprint and goes about it's work quietly. I'm not an Amazon bot, this review is real. I gave it 4 stars because it requires batteries and isn't rechargeable.

I am quite pleased with this product. It gives off a strange odor (ozone) which you don't normally smell. It does not taint any product in the fridge except the air. You get used to it and now after a few weeks you hardly notice it. It also has an automatic shutoff so the 4 C cell batteries don't run down quickly. Things do stay fresher longer.
