I ordered this to replace our mr coffee tea maker that blew up due to an exposed wire.
This one takes up more space but it looks nicer and it’s easier to keep clean. It feels a bit flimsy, but it also wasn’t very expensive. We use it every day because we don’t really drink soda, just lots of iced tea so this is a staple for us. So far I am very happy with it. We’ve had it a couple weeks and it’s working great. My only complaint is that it doesn’t tell you which way to adjust the slider for stronger vs weaker tea. Had to play with it while it was brewing to figure it out. Otherwise it’s been great.

For reference, to the right is stronger/bolder (bigger ovals) - to the left is weaker (smaller ovals). I wish they had referenced that in the useless instructions but hey, I figured it out.

A Few Minor Changes Would Make a Great Improvement

I purchased this machine to replace my usual Dunkin' iced coffees. It's an attractive machine and looks good on the countertop. The instructions were a bit unclear when it comes to the parts and the actual brewing. A few more pictures and details would have been helpful. Once I did figure it out, the coffee it brewed turned out excellent. My only other gripe was that I specifically purchased this machine as it appeared that the pitcher could be used as a storage device as well and I would not have to transfer excess to a different container. The pitcher is designed with a nickel-sized hole in the top for the brewing process. Unfortunately there is no way to close that hole for storage. Not a huge deal, but this would probably have been a 4 or 5 star machine if it included a way to cover that hole.

This makes a delicious pitcher of iced tea. I like my tea strong so I run the water through brew twice with three family size Lipton tea bags for a perfect pitcher. I like using the tea maker for several reasons , the most important being that I am able to have tea the strength that I like. Also, I think brewed tea tastes better thank any mix. The tea maker is convenient and easy to use, after you are done you just throw the tea bags out and rinse the brewing pitcher out. I put my brewed tea in a gallon pitcher separate from the tea maker in order to keep it clean and accessible. I am diabetic so I add my sweetener and water to the gallon pitcher and refrigerate. Simple and easy.

I bought this tea maker for my boyfriend who loves drinking tea and usually ended up making it in a pot the old-fashioned way. He also doesn't have a stove in his dorm room so I thought it would be a great gift for him before he went back to school and I was right! He has had it for 6 months now and he loves using it! You can adjust the strength of the tea, but we usually just leave it on the highest setting. I also love the aesthetic look of the tea-maker.
I was scared to get a tea-maker with a plastic pitcher because I was afraid that it would be flimsy or break, but once I got it I realized that the handle was very sturdy and it has held up well so far. I also decided to go with this plastic pitcher so that it does not shatter when it inevitably falls on the floor (which it already fallen has many times).
It is still holding up great and we both love using this tea-maker!!
