They Bend real easy, be careful. The setting fluctuates with each toasting, but is fairly consistent, enough to give you an idea just how brown your chosen piece of bread will get. The CS sent a return label, and replaced our toaster promptly. Nice looking, takes up a bit of room, wish the cord was placed properly for left or right plug locations, but we wanted a long toaster like this so we were limited with choices..........
SOOOo, the replacement toaster is also defective, but this time around, as expected, they refused to take responsibility for their defective product that now stays ON until your home is burned down or smoked out from burning bread.
Again, the lady was friendly on the phone as she inserted the shaft. These are simply overpriced,
Probably the worst part of the toaster's flaws is that the toast setting/dial does not maintain its level when you unplug it or finish toasting. So you may toast something at a 3 and the next time you plug it in the display will list 5. You really have to pay attention or it will burn your food. I got just as good toast out of the 10 year old $15 plastic model this replaced.
The toaster would have received five stars except for some reason it doesn't toast my breadmaker bread as evenly as it does store-bought loves. So I would give it 4 and 1/2 if I could.
I often make garlic bread using butter and garlic powder and when I put it in the toaster on the bagel setting it comes out perfect. The butter side toward the center gets melted and just a bit toasted and the un-buttered side comes out the same.
The toaster has been excellently reviewed by others and has some great features like the "lift and check" without canceling, the L.E.D. countdown timer as a part of the toast control, and the lighted cancel button.
Another great and competitively priced addition to my kitchen.
It also has some very nice feature: bagel setting, reheat without toasting etc. Another nice feature is the extra long slots.
All and all I expected it to be a four or five star unit. The only reason I gave it a 2 is that it doesn't toast any better than a cheap o drug store model. AT $90.00 I expect consistent even toasting and Breville doesn't deliver Fortunately I got it from Amazon - so they are arranging for UPS to come pick it up for a full refund.
I just received a Bella toaster Sensio 90002 Bella Professional 4-Slice Toaster just a few bucks more but early indications are that this puppy can toast. I have never seen such even toasting, Edge to edge - it almost looks like a sprayed on tan.

Model CT75XL , it stopped working today. It's no longer available. For a very expensive toaster it should've lasted longer.
