The binding on this book is horrible. As soon as I opened the book, the back cover broke off of the glue and separated itself from the book.Three openings later the front cover came off which separated the cover from the book completely. Each time a page is turned I can hear the glue cracking and breaking away. This book is wonderfully illlustrated, like a comic, with great pictures (though I don't like how the stories are re-told. Many lose their true rich meaning in his interpretation of the story). BUT the binding is so horrible that its not worth purchasing.

Binding comes off after lookig at it a few times. Just glued on with rubber cement glue. I recommend going ahead and purchase the hardback ones. Same content as paperback.

Ditch this and buy the Action Bible. I don't even want to give my copy away - I'll throw it away. My son has been reading the Brick Bible after it was gifted to us by a friend. I wish I had read through it first. I genuinely feel like the creator of it went through scripture and found the most shocking parts to include, not at all trying to convey the heart of the Bible. The creator's introduction says "I have been inspired to do this for one reason: people should really know what's in the bible. For a book that so many of us consider our ultimate moral guide and the very word of God, it can be shocking to consider how few people ever actually read it." There is no way that the creator made this with the desire to convey God's word to kids. As I flipped through, it showed weird accounts and focused on the most shocking aspect of them to portray in the pictures (sons of God laying with daughters of men, Noah getting drunk, lots of images of men getting circumcised, Sodom and Gomorrah, weird depictions of childbirth, Lot's daughters getting pregnant... on and on it goes). I get it - the Old Testament has gruesome stuff in it - it wouldn't be rated PG, but good grief, this book was terribly handled. The Action Bible tells the Bible accounts with beautiful (sometimes scary) images without being vulgar. We won't have it anymore.

This book looks like a kids book and you wont find any descriptions that give its true nature on the website or the product descriptions.
What you will find if you read and view this is a new translation of the bible that is somewhat accurate to the original text but is cherry picked for the most graphic content and portrayed in a way that is antagonistic to the message of the gospel. If you are an Atheist that wants to find a fun way to tear down the main text of the Christian religion and you would like to share the experience with your children then this is your book.

Bought this at the thrift store for my LEGO enthusiast 10 yr. old.
I thought it would be cool to see the Bible stories in LEGO form. Not the case! My son started asking me some strange questions while he was reading it. I started flipping through it and discovered that the guy who created this MUST REALLY HATE GOD. The content is not suitable for kids and it’s pretty disgusting what he chose to depict from the scriptures. DO NOT BUY if you love God!

If you are buying this because you want your child to learn the Bible, you should buy something else. The content is cherry picked by the author, who is an atheist, to emphasize the most violent and disturbing parts. Removed from their larger context the stories become even more disturbing. It is true that there are disturbing stories in the Bible, like the rape of Dinah or Jacob lying to his Father Issac, yet the Bible itself doesn't hold these up as admirable. The author is not a scholar (he typically paraphrases the KJV because it is in the public domain, yet the KJV is not a good translation) or sensitive to cultural issues. Jewish families need to know before buying this that in the Old Testament the Hebrew name for God is added to the english translation and used indiscriminately. It is ironic that a project undertaken in the name of honesty is not fairly representing it's subject or being honest with their own intentions.

A lot of contents are not appropriate for kids. For example, the content Joshua is too violent, and there are a lot of other examples. I don't know why the author chose those content to show to kids. Absolutely not recommend to any kids.

This is an excerpt from an interview. I will post the link afterwards so you can see yourself!!!!

Who's your favourite character, and why? Go on, we know you have one...

It may seem cliche, but I have to say my favorite Bible character is Yahweh himself. I don't think I would have been nearly as inspired to create this project if it weren't for the continuous outrageous and depraved actions of the Bible's main character. Power-mad, belligerent, masochistic, petty, woefully insecure, extremely dangerous and unpredictable (and seemingly not too bright) Yahweh exhibits all the worst attributes of man. As such I can only really consider him a "favorite" character in the way a Star Wars fan might consider Darth Vader to be their favorite character. But if you were to stop and imagine if Darth or Yahweh were real and not just fictional, you might be more hesitant to think of them as "cool" for things like blowing up a planet of innocent civilians, or ordering genocides and torturing people to death.

ok, so my youngest is way into Legos but page 176 starts a story about laying with a man, cutting a concubine into 12 parts, killing everyone that is not a virgin, checking if they are virgins, and even just taking a wife from virgin girls dancing ...
this is not for kiddos
read it and see for yourself
very disappointed
