The Bride of Lottawatah, the 13th novella in the Brianna Sullivan Mysteries, is such a fun read. I love this series. Brianna is a very likable protagonist. Her ability to see and communicate with ghosts causes her all kinds of trouble, but she has a warm heart and always does what she can to help them move on. Lottawatah is home to a group of entertaining characters. This is definitely a place I would like to visit. Cooper and Brianna are perfect for each other, and I’m so glad they finally tied the knot.
Evelyn David (a pseudonym for authors Marian Edelman Borden and Rhonda Dossett) has a very humorous voice, and I found myself chuckling frequently at the realistic dialogue. These novellas are quick, easy reads and very enjoyable. I’m looking forward to Book 14. Happy reading!
The wedding of Brianna and Cooper is fast approaching and it seems that everything that could go wrong does. Along with her mother, Great Aunt Ida and friends, Brianna goes to Candy's hair salon for a trial run of her wedding hair do, receiving less than thrilling results. While there, one of her friends collapses and dies from an apparent heart attack. At the same time, Cooper is in a middle of an investigation involving a possible drug ring working out of Lottawatah. As the body count rises, with the help of family and friends, Brianna investigates what really killed her friend, Adele. Soon, someone is targeting someone close to Brianna. Will Brianna live to say "I Do" or will she be another victim?
This book was funny, fast paced, and well written. With a cast of wonderfully, developed characters, this is another winner by Evelyn David. If you have never read this series, then I recommend that you do so.
