About the Author
Stephanie Bond was seven years deep into a corporate career in computer programming and pursuing an MBA at night when an instructor remarked she had a flair for writing and suggested she submit material to academic journals. But Stephanie was more interested in writing fiction—more specifically, romance and mystery novels. After writing in her spare time for two years, she sold her first manuscript; after selling ten additional projects to two publishers, she left her corporate job to write fiction full-time. To-date, Stephanie has more than seventy published novels to her name, including the popular BODY MOVERS humorous mystery series. Stephanie lives in Atlanta. The news about Jack shocked me but it adds to Carlotta's drama.
I hope Ms. Bond doesn't take too long with 8 and it's not like 61/2. I'm sorry but that one is a waste of time. It shows what their lives could've been like but it didn't answer any questions.
I absolutely loved the other books though!
Q: Do you have more books planned for the BODY MOVERS series?
Yes! As of now, I have 12 books sketched out, with the loose idea that the series will take a major turn in a new direction after every third book. (That’s how I keep everything manageable in my head.) But I’ll keep the series going as long as I feel there’s more story to tell…and as long as readers want it!
yep.. even worse.. 5 more books? crazy
This story line continued right after the end of the previous book, 6 1/2 Body Parts (short story) and 6 Killer Bodies. We jump right back into the characters messy lives and begin to learn more about Carlotta's father and where he has been, but I am still dying to know more. We move things around with all 3 love interests - but I am sad to see Carlotta's interest in Coop seems to be waning during this book, letting him go ---BUT I don't want to offer any spoilers so I will leave it at that! The story of Carlotta helping at a Wedding Planning Event makes for more opportunities for that exquisite tension between her and Jack. Her taking time off with Peter is a good plan too. I wanted/needed to see her focus on one guy this book, like she did with Coop in a 3 Men and a Body. I always change my loyalties with these men though. I was also glad to see Wesley start to make better decisions too, not perfect by any means - he is after all an addict and still hasn't hit rock bottom to realize how INSANE his actions are. I did find myself much more hopeful for his character this book, like maybe he would have an eventual happy ending...but he always goes about things the wrong way - much to our consternation and frustration.
However, the cliff hanger at the end - I just can't get it out of my head. At all! This was a fun read, quicker than her other Body Mover books - much shorter which was very disappointing. But I am not at all deterred, I am ready to jump into book 8 as soon as Stephanie Bond gets her written! No pressure Stephanie!!
I am so glad that I took the leap of faith and ordered '7 Brides for 7 Bodies!' The author did a wonderful job reacquainting the reader with her characters, bringing readers back up to speed, while laying the groundwork for this book and future stories. I agree with other reviewers in being disappointed that, just when we thought Carlotta would finally be able to choose between the men in her life, there is yet another plot complication to keep us guessing!
Stephanie Bond is a master of keeping me coming back for more Body Movers. Let's just hope we don't have to wait so long for the next installment!
