Go Brightz by Brightz, Ltd.
Be cool! Be seen! Make the road your stage with Go Brightz!
Brightz, Ltd. started with the imagination of 12 year old Eric and his innovative, engineer dad, Ron. The small LED light bar Ron created was intended to light up the underside of Eric’s bed, but one look at the light, and Eric knew it belonged on his bike. With more development, that would become our first product, Go Brightz.
Since releasing Go Brightz in 2010, Brightz, Ltd. has gone on to create lights in a variety of styles and colors, but Go Brightz still remains a top favorite of kids and adults alike!
Go Brightz fits on any bike and is easy to install - no tools needed! It uses 6 long-lasting wide-beam LEDs to project a vivid halo of color. With 4 modes of control – constant, slow flashing, medium flashing, and fast flashing – you’re sure to stand out from the crowd and be seen from any direction! And they don’t just have to be for your bike. With their included plastic ties, you can attach them to scooters, skateboards, rig them up in game rooms, under your bed, and more.
Your light kit includes:
- 1 water resistant light made of durable ABS plastic, with on/off switch
- 4 plastic ties for secure installation
- 1 non-skid barrier to protect your bike’s finish.
4 modes of control – constant, slow flashing, medium flashing, and fast flashing
They fit on kids’ and adult bikes, and run on 2 AAA batteries (not included) for 15 hours of light before needing replaced.
Available in 5 solid colors - Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Pink – and Color Morphing.

Every nighttime bike commuter should start with a good quality "blinky" type rear flasher. (I have two rear flashers, one for my backpack, on on the bike). Rear flashers seem to me the most crucial piece of safety gear. Next in line is a very bright headlight (mine cost almost a hundred bucks, is rechargeable, and is worth every penny) so you can clearly see the road in dark areas and so you can clearly be seen by motorists you are approaching as they come out from side streets. There are many cheap headlights available and most are way too dim; a bright headlight is one area where it is worth splurging a little.
In addition to these basics, I also highly recommend the Flashflight SpokeLit Disc-O spoke lights available on Amazon; a pair of SpokLits on the front really light up your wheel in a bright and colorful way. Plus, I use a glowing reflective ankle strap available at Planet Bike BRT Strap Multi-Use LED Bicycle Safety Light to really catch the attention of motorists who are following me. Finally, go crazy with the 3M reflective tape available on this site; you can put this tape on your helmet, your backpack, the frame of your bike, even on your biking gloves.
Only after investing in these other, much-more-visible accessories, would I even consider going with the blue Bike Brightz - and, as I said, the visibility improvement from them is not very great. Unlike other bike lighting products, Bike Brightz shine light on the gray pavement instead of directly into the motorists' eyes. (The reflective floor used in the product photos makes them look much more visible than they are against a dark road surface.) Automotive headlights and bright street lights tend to wash them out so that they are of little use in traffic.
Even the spoiled jealous kid down the block who has to have everything, 2 weeks later showed up with the SAME EXACT bike model as my daughter asked where I got the underglow.... I told her "some bike shop downtown", and chuckled at the thought of her parents going from store to store in the bad part of town looking for this.
Update..I had the light on for eight hours steady and still had about a hour charge left. Long enough for me. Added a video, not touched up at all. Wanted to add one of the flashing settings.
If you all are wondering what happened, I went over a good few bumps on a ride, and then the lights went from steady to fast blink on their own, and I was unable to turn them off for about an hour. They do not work anymore. Had them for less than two weeks.
