Blog postA couple of years ago, after a wonderful vacation in Greece, Arjen and I made a vow:
From then on, we’d live our life as if every day was a holiday.
He was still working in a job when he made that decision.
I already had my own business since forever and consciously created a life for myself that allowed me a TON of freedom.
But it didn’t feel like every day was a holiday.
Because that has NOTHING to do with what’s on your schedule, an

Blog postYou want to grow your business and that’s great.
But…do you have the SPACE for it? Is your business set up in a way that can handle more clients and sales? Does the way you work and how you spend your time allow for growth?
I realized I need to change some things to make space for expansion.
I noticed it because I felt HUGE resistance when I was coming up with ideas for bonuses for my book launch. Last July, when I launched my book Unm

Blog postI don’t know about you, but I have a tendency to focus more on what’s NOT working and what’s NOT here yet.
I can easily brush aside successes and things that flow, and quickly think ‘yeah, that’s all good and well, but THIS thing is still not here! And THAT thing is still not working!’
There’s nothing wrong with looking at things you don’t want or don’t yet have—this can be powerful fuel to birth new dreams and desires.
BUT it’s not go

Blog postOvercomplicating. I’m good at it.
I realized this morning I was doing it again. I was thinking about something and for the life of me couldn’t think my way through it.
I used to really dig my heels in when I couldn’t figure something out: I’d try and look at it from different angles and kept trying to find a solution. Which only complicated everything even more.
Now, I know better.
When I can’t figure something out this does NOT mean I

Blog postI just started the first round of self-edits of my 5th book. But it didn’t feel right. I didn’t enjoy it and it felt somehow off.
Many, many years ago I would have pushed through. Don’t be a cry baby! You have a deadline and you already waited too long to get started, so just MOVE now!
I know better now. Pushing and forcing never leads to good results. And it feels awful, too!
Instead, I stopped what I was doing and explored what was g

Blog postWhen you leave something old behind and something new is emerging, you’re in the in-between phase where the old hasn’t left and the new hasn’t arrived yet.
You’re in the messy middle.
That’s where I’m at now. I’m super tired because I haven’t slept well in over 2 weeks. I’m cranky on and off for no reason. I feel uncomfortable without knowing what it is that feels uncomfortable exactly.
It feels like something is about to erupt or brea

Blog postPeople often think they have to choose between two things they desire.
The thing that’s most important to them will always win at the cost of the other.
For me, I used to think that I had to choose between success OR freedom.
I was afraid growing my business would mean I would lose my freedom.
I was not willing to do that. And every time I built momentum in my business, I started to self-sabotage so I wouldn’t grow any further.

Blog postIt was 1994 and I just started my first fulltime job: an administrative position at a real estate and insurance company.
On my second day, one of the agents had a meeting with clients. He walked up to me and said: ‘Bring us some coffee, will you? Two black and one with milk and sugar.” He was about to turn around and walk away, but before he did I looked him in the eye and said: “No.”
He repeated his request, assuming I’d misunderstood
